Shooting Season for Native Game, License-fee, etc.,
Hawera District.

GLASGOW, Governor.

In exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals
Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same,
I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby notify that native game, excepting
tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or
killed within the Hawera District, consisting of the Counties
of Hawera and Patea, from the twenty-third day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, to the thirty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
four, both days inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restric-
tions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify
that licenses to sell native game shall be issued on payment
of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmasters at
Hawera and Patea are hereby appointed to sign and issue
the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twelfth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-four.
