I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirtysixth section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, E arl of G lasgow, the G overn or of the C olony of New Z ealand, having received the report of the S urveyorG eneral in this behal f, as in the said section is provided, do hereb y declare that the rur al lands described in the S chedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the eighteenth day of A pril, one thousand eight hundred and nintyfour; and also that the lands mentioned in the said S chedule may, at the option of the applic ant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occu pation with right of purchase or on le ase in perp etuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, min eral, or valuable stone, be selected on le ase in perp etuity only; and I do hereb y also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occu p ied, or le ased, as mentioned in the said S chedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occu p ied, or le ased under and subject to the prov isions of "The Land Act, 1892. "

All that parcell of land in the Auckland Land District, situate in the Parish of Whangamarino, and containing approximately 4,000 ares. Bounded towards the north by a right line running due east from the norther nmost angle of Section No. 425 of the Parish of Whangamarino, to the confiscation boundar y; towards the east generally by the said confiscation boundar y; towards the south east generally by Sections Nos. 454, 453, 452, 451, 450, 449, and 448 of the Parish of Whangamarino; towards the west generally by Section No. 471 of the same parish, by a public road, by Section No. 426, by a public road, and by Sections Nos. 472A and 473A of the same parish; and towards the north west generally by Sections Nos. 412, 414, 416, 418, 420, 422, 424, and 425 of the Parish of Whangamarino aforesaid, to the point of commenc ement.

All broken forest land of fair quality, well watered; distan t thirteen miles from Wair angi Railway station. C as h price, 10s. per are; occu pation with right of purchase, 6d. per are; le ase in perp etuity, 4·8d. per are.

I N exercise of the powers v ested in me by "The A n im als P rotection Act, 1880," and "The A n im als P rotection Act A m endment Act, 1881," I, David, E arl of G lasgow, the G overn or of the C olony of New Z ealand, do hereb y notify that red deer (stags only) may be taken or killed within the C ounty of Wairar apa South, from the second day of A pril to the thirtieth day of A pril, one thousand eight hundred and nintyfour, both inc lusiv e (subject, nev er theless, to the restr ict ions in the said A cts mentioned); and I do further notify that lic enses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on the payment of the sum of tw enty shillings each; and the C hief P ostmaster at W elling ton, and the P ostmasters at Masterton, C ar terton, G rey town, and Fe ather ston, are hereb y app ointed to issue the said lic enses.
