COPY OF SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE WOODVILLE ROAD
BOARD ON THE 12TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1894.
THAT a special rate of 18d. in the pound be struck on the
rateable values of Sections 14, 17, 18, 19, and 20, Block V.;
Sections 1, 2, 3, 25, 26, 27, Block X.; and Sections 1, 2, 4, 5,
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block XVI., Woodville Survey District, as security for the interest and charges on a loan of
£450 under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," for the Whariti and Victoria Roads. Such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for the period of twenty-six years, and to be payable in one sum on the 1st day of January in each year.
I certify that the above special order has been duly made in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

THE following special order, made by the Makara Road
Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

MAKARA ROAD BOARD.-SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT a special rate of 4d. in the pound be struck over the whole of the rateable property in the Makara Road District, to provide interest on a loan of £1,500, to be raised under section 21 of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," for the purpose of constructing a road to connect the Makara Road with the Ohariau Road; and that such special rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for the period of twenty-six years, to be payable in two instalments, on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each year.

cultivated grasses and clovers, and be allowed to remain as pasture for at least three years from the harvesting of last crop before being again cropped.

At all times during the lease of the land it must be so farmed that not less than one-third of the farm be maintained in permanent pasture.
-
The lessee must not cut the cultivated grass or clovers for hay or seed during the first year from the time of sowing as aforesaid.
-
The lessee must not burn any straw grown upon the land.
-
The lessee must once a year properly clean, clear from weed, and keep open all creeks, drains, ditches, and watercourses which now are or may be upon the land; and the Commissioner of Crown Lands or any Crown Lands Ranger of the district shall have power at any time to enter upon and make any drain through the land that he may deem necessary.

In the event of the lessee failing to comply with any of the conditions hereinbefore mentioned relating to the trimming of live fences, and stubbing gorse, broom, and sweetbriar, and to the cleaning, clearing from weed, and keeping open all creeks, drains, ditches, and watercourses, it shall be lawful for the said Commissioner to have such work done, and to recover the cost of the same from the lessee.

All buildings erected upon the land must be kept in good order and repair.

The lessee shall be liable for all rates, taxes, and assessments during the term.

Subject as aforesaid, the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892," and the regulations made thereunder with respect to applications for and the grant of leases in perpetuity, shall apply, so far as applicable, to all applications made and leases granted under or by virtue of these regulations.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."
