Appointment of Transmitting and Receiving Officer for the Service of Notices by Telegraph.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by “The Electric Lines Act, 1884” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made thereunder on the 30th June, 1885, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 41, 1885, the following officer is hereby appointed a Transmitting and Receiving Officer for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorised to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:—

Chief Dairy Expert appointed.—Notice No. 388.

to be Chief Dairy Expert to the Government of New Zealand, in terms of “The Civil Service Reform Act, 1886.” To date from the 14th October, 1893.

OTAKI ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.—LOAN PROPOSAL.

THAT this Board proposes to borrow from the Colonial Treasurer, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” and its amendments, the sum of £550 for the construction of Atkinson's Road, and also the Otaki Township footpaths, the same being within the Special District No. 1.

  1. To make a special rate of 5/16d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable properties within the boundaries of the Special District No. 1 (exclusive of Crown and Native lands within the meaning of “The Crown and Native Lands Rating Act, 1882”), to pay for interest on the said loan.

  2. That the cost of raising the loan and the first year's interest be paid out of loan.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and confirmed, as required by “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

OTAKI ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.—LOAN PROPOSAL.

OTAKI ROAD BOARD.—SPECIAL ORDER.—SPECIAL DISTRICT NO. 1.

THAT this Board intends, by special order, to form a special district, to be called Special District No. 1, being that area comprised within the following boundaries: Starting from the mouth of the Otaki River on the north side; thence in an easterly direction following the Otaki River to the Inland County Road; thence following the western side of the said road to the Haruatae Creek; thence following the southern boundary of the said creek until it touches the north boundary of Piritaha No. 8; thence following same to its north-west boundary; thence along west boundary of Piritaha Sections 1, 2, 7, 6, 3, 4, and west boundary of property known as Church Mission College Grounds; thence easterly to west boundary of the Awamate Block; thence south to the north boundary of the Ahitangutu Block No. 2; thence westerly along the north boundaries of Ahitangutu No. 2 and Whakarangirangi No. 5, to the Potae Creek; following the north boundary of same creek to its junction with the Rangiruru Creek; following same to the starting-point, Otaki River, within Blocks VIII. and IX., Waitohu Survey District: the said special district being formed for the purpose of raising a loan of £550, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the construction of Atkinson's Road and the Otaki Township footpaths, being within the said special district, and for the striking of a special rate to pay off interest on the said loan.

THE following special order, made by the Eketahuna Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Eketahuna Road Board, County of Wairarapa North.

THAT, for the purpose of securing payment of the sum of £1,000, borrowed by the Board, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of one mile of formation and four miles of metalling on No. 1 South Road and Morgan Road, Wellington No. 2 Special Settlement Block, a special rate of 4½d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value for the time being of the following properties: Sections 62, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 73, 74, Block IX., and Section 171, Block XIII., all in the Mangaone Survey District; Sections 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, Block X., and Sections 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, Block XIV., all in the Tararua Survey District. Such rate shall be an annually-recurring rate, and shall be paid in two half-yearly instalments for twenty-six years, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each year, until the debt is liquidated.

I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made.
