CONDITIONS.

  1. Notice of intention to claim the bonus for 100 tons in
    1894 must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not
    later than the 30th June, 1894. Notice of intention to claim
    the bonus for 100 tons in 1895 must be given in the same
    manner not later than the 30th June, 1895.
  2. The claims must be made respectively before the 31st
    December, 1894 and 1895.
  3. The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the
    Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions is to be
    the recipient of the bonus.
  4. Evidence to be produced of such a nature as will enable
    an officer appointed by the Government to certify that the
    above-stated quantity in each year has been actually made,
    sold, and delivered.
  5. The bonus to be paid only on the certificate of such
    officer.

NOTICE is hereby given that WALTER DAVIES, Esquire,
of 267, Collins Street, Melbourne, in the Colony of
Victoria, a Solicitor of the said colony, has been this day
appointed by his Honour the Chief Justice a Commissioner
of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Victoria, under
the 2nd section of "The Commissioners of the Supreme
Court Act, 1875," for the purpose of administering and
taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the
said section mentioned.

Prizes for Collections of Dried Specimens of Grasses and
Forage Plants.—Notice No. 369.

Department of Agriculture,
Wellington, 9th May, 1893.

PRIZES offered for collections of dried specimens of
grasses and forage plants, introduced and native, pro-
minence being given to the most useful indigenous species.
First prize, £25; second, £15.
All specimens must have been gathered in the colony.
Each specimen must be mounted on paper, 18in. by 11in.,
and bear, if possible, both popular and scientific names, also
the name of the locality where obtained.
The collections winning the prizes are to become the pro-
perty of the department, where they will remain on exhibi-
tion, with the names of the collectors affixed.
All collections for competition must be delivered at the
office of the Secretary for Agriculture, at the Government
Buildings, Wellington, not later than the 31st March, 1894.
Each collection must be marked with a motto, and be
accompanied by a sealed envelope containing a copy of such
motto, together with the full name and address of the
exhibitor.
The unsuccessful exhibits will be returned to the owners
carriage-free.

The judges have power to withhold the prizes if they are
of opinion that none of the collections are worthy of an
award.

Tenders for Steam-service between Wellington and Pelorus
Sound.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 8th November, 1893.

TENDERS will be received at this office until Wednes-
day, the 15th instant, for the performance of a service
by steam-vessel, once every two weeks, from Wellington to
Havelock and back to Wellington, calling at Maori Bay,
Homewood, Maud Island, and Keta Bay, both ways.
The service to commence between the 28th instant and
the 1st proximo, if required.
The name, tonnage, and horse-power of the vessel to be
employed to be stated.
Tenders to be addressed to the Hon. the Postmaster-
General, Wellington, and superscribed, "Tender for Wel-
ington—Pelorus Steam-service." Each tender to be accom-
panied with a cheque equal to 10 per cent. of the amount of
the tender, and marked good for twenty-one days.
The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Tenders for School-buildings, Painting, &c.

Education Department,
Wellington, 6th November, 1893.

TENDERS will be received at this office up to noon of
the 30th November for the erection of a Native
school and teacher's residence at Te Pupuke, Whangaroa
Harbour, and up to noon of the 10th December for works
on the East Coast as follows: Te Araroa, Hicks Bay—
building addition to school, and painting school and resi-
dence; Tokomaru, Tokomaru Bay—building school; Whare-
kahika, Hicks Bay—painting school and residence; Rangi-
tukia, Port Awanui—painting school and residence.
Plans, &c., may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at
the Public Works Office, Auckland; the Post-offices, Wha-
garoa and Kawakawa; the Resident Magistrates' Offices,
Napier and Gisborne; and the school, Tuparoa.
In the case of the East Coast schools tenders may be for
the works as a whole or for any one or more of the works;
but in any tender for more than one the price at which the
tenderer is willing to undertake each separate work must be
stated.
Telegraphic tenders will be accepted, provided the original
tender and deposit are lodged at the same time at one of the
Government offices above mentioned.
