Bounded towards the north-east by Reserve 1127, and Lots 16, 24, and 25 of Reserve 1128; towards the south-east by Meikle’s Road; towards the south-west by Lots 1, 4, 5, 6 of Reserve 1178, Reserve 1177, and Section 27536; and towards the north-west by the Main South Road: save and except the three-chain Railway Reserve passing through the above-described land: as the same is more particularly shown on certificate of title, Vol. clii., folio 273, deposited in the District Land Registrar’s Office, Christchurch.

Given under the hand of the Honourable Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly-appointed Deputy in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Extending Powers under “The Counties Vehicle-licensing Act, 1893.”

HIS EXCELLENCY THE DEPUTY-GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by “The Counties Vehicle-Licensing Act, 1893,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by his duly-appointed Deputy, Sir James Prendergast, Knight, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that, in addition to the powers under section three hundred and eleven of “The Counties Act, 1886” (herein referred to as “the said Act”), the several County Councils of the counties enumerated in the Schedule hereto are respectively authorised from time to time to make, alter, or repeal by-laws under the said Act to provide for the licensing of all vehicles drawn upon or along any road within the county, and to prevent unlicensed vehicles using any of the said county roads, and for appointing the several sums to be paid to the county fund for the licensing of vehicles as herein mentioned; which sums may be appointed to vary in respect of different classes of vehicles, the number and species of animals used in drawing the same, the weight of the load laden on such vehicles, the width of the tires of the wheels, or the number of passengers to be carried respectively.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of November, 1893.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE DEPUTY-GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto were permanently reserved for the purposes and on the date specified in the said Schedule:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Deputy-Governor, it is expedient to vest the said lands in the Taieri County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand by his duly-appointed Deputy, Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the reserves mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the Taieri County, and under the control and management of the Council of such county, in trust for the purposes specified in the said Schedule.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE DEPUTY-GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto were reserved permanently as gravel-pits on the first day of September, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of South Invercargill:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by his duly-appointed Deputy, Sir James Prendergast, Knight, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserves mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of South Invercargill, in trust, for gravel-pits, and under the control and management of the Corporation of such borough.
