Postponing County Elections, County of Rangitikei.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of October, 1893.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE DEPUTY-GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The Counties Act, 1886," His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by his duly-appointed Deputy, Sir James Prendergast, Knight, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, doth hereby extend the time for holding the general election of Councillors of the County of Rangitikei, and doth declare that the said elections shall be held and take place on Saturday, the eleventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, in lieu of Wednesday, the eighth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Vaccination Districts constituted.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in the Governor by "The Public Health Act, 1876," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing vaccination districts known as the Lumsden and Winton Districts ; and do declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into three vaccination districts, the names whereof shall be the Lumsden, Dipton, and Winton Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith, made under the provisions of "The Marriage Act, 1880."

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Fixing Sittings of District Courts.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, James Prendergast, for and

on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings of the District Courts of Ashburton, Timaru and Oamaru, Otago Goldfields, and Westland, for civil and criminal business, shall be held as follows, from and after the first day of January next, in lieu of those previously fixed and appointed:β€”

Ashburton District.

In the Courthouse, Ashburton, for civil business only, on 12th January, 16th March, 18th May, 20th July, 14th September, and 9th November.

Timaru and Oamaru District.

In the Courthouse, Timaru, for civil business only, on 16th January, 20th March, 22nd May, 24th July, 18th September. For civil and criminal business, on 13th November.

In the Courthouse, Oamaru, for civil business only, on 22nd March, 25th May, 20th September, and 16th November. For civil and criminal business, on 19th January and 26th July.

Otago Goldfields District.

In the Courthouse, Lawrence, for civil and criminal business, on 29th May and 25th September.

In the Courthouse, Queenstown, for civil and criminal business, on 25th January and 2nd August.

In the Courthouse, Naseby, for civil and criminal business, on 29th March and 22nd November.

Westland District.

In the Courthouse, Westport, for civil business only, on 19th April, 23rd August, and 6th December. For civil and criminal business, on 15th February, 21st June, and 18th October.

In the Courthouse, Greymouth, for civil business only, on 23rd April, 27th August, and 22nd October. For civil and criminal business, on 19th February, 25th June, and 10th December.

In the Courthouse, Hokitika, for civil business only, on 22nd February, 26th April, 31st August, and 26th October. For civil and criminal business, on 28th June and 14th December.

In the Courthouse, Reefton, for civil business only, on 27th February, 1st May, 3rd July, 29th August, 24th October, and 12th December.

Provided that in case any of the days so fixed as aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the Court appointed for that day shall be holden on the first day thereafter not being a holiday.

As witness the hand of His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, as such Deputy of the said Governor as aforesaid, this twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twentieth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."
