Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The
Government Railways Act, 1887," do hereby make the fol-
lowing alterations in and additions to the scale of fares,
rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 2nd day of
October, 1893:—

PART III.—GOODS: REGULATIONS.

WEST COAST, NEW ZEALAND, CO-OPERATIVE EXHIBITION.

Goods consigned for exhibit at the West Coast Co-operative
Exhibition, to be held at Greymouth from the 20th Decem-
ber, 1893, to the 20th January, 1894, will be carried free on
the New Zealand Government railways, and will be exempt
from wharf charges at Greymouth, provided that they shall
be so carried at the sole risk of the consignors, and that each
package shall be consigned to the Secretary of the Exhibi-
tion, and marked legibly "For exhibit at the West Coast
Co-operative Exhibition, Greymouth." The loading and
unloading must be done at the expense of the consignors.
In the event of such exhibits being sold the full railway
charges must be paid.

Exhibits returning will be conveyed free, and will be
exempt from wharf charges at Greymouth, provided no sale
or exchange has been effected. A certificate to this effect
must be produced, signed by the Secretary of the Exhibition,
before the goods can be received for transit free of charge.

Additional Land taken in Block VII., Township of Mataura,
for the Purposes of the Hurunui-Bluff Railway (Main
Line).

A NOTIFICATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use,
convenience, and enjoyment of the Hurunui-Bluff
Railway (main line), to take further land in Block VII.,
Township of Mataura, in addition to land previously ac-
quired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, we, the New Zealand Railway Commis-
sioners, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
on us by "The Government Railways Act, 1887," and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling us in
that behalf, do hereby notify and declare that the land
mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes
above mentioned.

in the Colony of Victoria, Mining Registrar, has been
this day appointed by his Honour the Chief Justice a Com-
missioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in Victoria,
under the 2nd section of "The Commissioners of the
Supreme Court Act, 1875," for the purpose of administering
and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in
the said section mentioned.

The lease for a term of fourteen years of Lot 15, Section 2,
containing 1a. 1r. 27p.; upset annual rent, £1.

Terms of lease: Rent to be paid yearly in advance. Lessee
may remove all fencing and buildings that may be erected
by him prior to the expiration of the term of lease, but will
have no right to valuation or compensation for improvements
or right of renewal of lease.
