Land set apart for Village Settlements in the Canterbury Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-eighth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the allotments of Crown lands respectively described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for lease as village settlements.

Districts constituted under “The Marriage Act, 1880.”

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1880,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Matakana and Waipukurau Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into four marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follow:—

MATAKANA DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by a right line from the southernmost corner of Section No. 64, Arai Parish, to the north-western corner of Section No. 57, Pakiri Parish; thence by the last-mentioned section, the Wangarapo Stream, and Sections Nos. 19, 18, 15, 13, 76, 73, 75, and 77, Pakiri Parish; thence towards the north generally by the last-mentioned section, Section No. 78, the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 101, by Section No. 111, by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section, by Sections Nos. 110, 104, a road-line, and Sections Nos. 67, 68, 121, and 120, Omaha Parish; towards the east generally by the sea; and towards the south-west generally by the Mahurangi and Hoteo Parishes, by Section No. 2, Block XII., Pakiri Survey District, and Sections Nos. 2 and 1, Block VIII., of the said survey district to the road intersecting the last-mentioned section; thence by that road and its continuation past Section No. 12 of the said Block VIII. to the boundary of Arai Parish; and thence towards the north-west by the said Arai Parish.

OMAHA DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east by the sea; towards the south generally by the sea, Whangateau Harbour, Sections Nos. 29, 65, 66, Omaha Parish, the road forming the western boundary of Section No. 67, and by reserve and Sections Nos. 41, 45, and 110A, Omaha Parish, by Sections Nos. 101, 107, 97, and 108, Matakana Parish, and Section No. 110, Pakiri Parish; thence towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 111, 81, and 80, Pakiri Parish, the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 73, and by Sections Nos. 86, 85, 87, 96, and 98, Pakiri Parish, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; and thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 64, Arai Parish; and towards the north-west by the said Arai Parish.

WAIPUKURAU DISTRICT.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded towards the north generally by the Makaretu and Tukituki Rivers respectively and Hawke’s Bay County to the ocean; towards the east by the ocean to Black Head; towards the south generally by the Hapuku Line (being the south-western boundary of Taumumu Riding, Patangata County), and by Patangata County to the Ngahape Stream, thence by that stream to its source, and thence by a line running due west to the eastern boundary-line of Block 69; and towards the north-west generally by said Block 69 and the Maharakeke River.

TAKAPAU DISTRICT.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded towards the north by the Makaretu River; towards the south-east by the Maharakeke River and Blocks 48, 60, and 70, Takapau Survey District, to a line running due west from the source of the Ngahape Stream; thence towards the south by that line to the Manawatu River, by that river to its source, and a line running due west to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence towards the west by the summit of that range to a point due west of the source of the Makaretu River; and again towards the north by a right line to the source of that river.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the fourteenth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.
