Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Manganui Road District,
County of Stratford.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Manganui Road Board, is published in accordance
with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.

RESULT of poll taken on Monday, the 14th August, 1893, upon
the following proposal:—
Notice is hereby given that this Board proposes to raise a
loan of £790, under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies
Act, 1886," for the following works: (1) To gravel the Beacons-
field Road with 12 cubic yards of gravel per chain from the
Salisbury Road to the bridge, and to gravel with 8 cubic
yards of gravel per chain from the bridge to the end of the
present gravel—amount £270; (2) to form, grade, and gravel
with not less than 20 cubic yards of gravel per chain from
the end of the present gravel eastwards for a distance of
about 127 chains—amount £520; (3) to strike, as security on
this loan, a special rate of 1½d. in the pound over the follow-
ing lands: viz., Sections Nos. 7 and 8, Block XIII.; 11, 12,
13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 33, 34, 35,
36, 37, and 39, Block XIV., Huiroa Survey District.
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 18, representing
19 votes; number of ratepayers who voted for the pro-
posal, 12.
No votes were recorded against the proposal; I therefore
declare the proposal carried.

Board, is published in accordance with the provisions

A SPECIAL ORDER made by the Ngatapa Road Board on
Friday, 4th August, 1893.

Resolved, That this Board do now proceed by special
order to adopt "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," gene-
rally.
The common seal of the inhabitants of the Ngatapa Road
District was hereto affixed in the presence of—H. M.
Porter, Clerk.
I certify that the foregoing special order has been made
in accordance with law, and that all the provisions of "The
Road Boards Act, 1882," have been complied with.

THE following special order, made by the Eketahuna
Road Board, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Eketahuna Road Board,
County of Wairarapa North.

THAT, for the purpose of securing payment of the sum of
£120—being 10 per cent. additional to a sum of £1,200 bor-
rowed by the Board under "The Government Loans to Local
Bodies Act, 1886," for the purpose of completing six miles
of road-formation, Parkville, commencing as near the bridge
as necessary at the eastern end of the Central Road, and
terminating at the south-east corner of Section 4, Block X.,
Tararua Survey District; on No. 2 South Road, com-
mencing at the Wellington No. 1 Special Settlement Block,
and terminating at traverse-peg No. 23, opposite Section 29,
Block IX., Mangaone Survey District—a special rate of ⅜d.
in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value, for
the time being, of the following properties: Sections 5, 6,
and 7, Block V.; Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28,
29, 30, 31, 36, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, and 56, Block IX., all in the
Mangaone Survey District; Sections 1 and 2, Block VII.;
Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block X.,
all in the Tararua Survey District. Such rate shall be an
annually-recurring rate, and shall be paid in two half-yearly
instalments for twenty-six years, on the 1st day of February
and the 1st day of August in each year, until the debt is
liquidated.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been
duly made.

THE following notice and statutory declaration, received
from His Worship the Mayor of the Borough of Lyttel-
ton, are published in accordance with section 184 of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1886."

SIR,—I have the honour to inform you, in accordance with
clause 184 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," that
the resolution to borrow £3,000 has been carried; and also
enclose statutory declaration, as required by said Act.

I, JOSEPH THOMAS BRICE, Mayor of Lyttelton, do solemnly
and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," have been duly taken
towards obtaining the sanction of the burgesses to the proposal
to borrow £3,000 for the purpose of laying a water-main
from the reservoir at Heathcote to Lyttelton, and that the
resolution in favour of the proposal has been duly carried.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believ-
ing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an
Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The
Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Commissioner of Trade and
Customs, do, by this order under my hand, revoke and
annul the appointment of the under-mentioned warehouse
for the reception and security of goods entered to be ware-
housed without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof,
namely:—

of the 1st July, 1886.

Bonus on Mineral Oil manufactured from Orepuki Shale.

Wellington, 30th June, 1893.

NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus will be paid for the
production of mineral oil under the following condi-
tions:—

  1. A bonus of 1s. per gallon (£5,000) will be paid on the
    first 100,000 gallons of mineral oil produced from shale
    obtained in the Orepuki district, Otago; the oil to be of a
    quality approved of by Government, and to be sold at a fair
    average market price.
  2. Notice of intention to claim the aforesaid bonus must
    be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than
    the 31st December, 1894.
  3. The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1895.
  4. The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the
    Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions to be the
    recipient of the bonus.
  5. The other conditions, as to quantity, priority, quality,
    and value, to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer ap-
    pointed for the purpose by the Government.
