  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business
    on the third Monday in each month, at half-past seven
    o'clock p.m., at the Road Board Office, Rahotu, or at such
    other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by
    the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the
    eighteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred
    and ninety-three.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third
    Monday in December in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of
    such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the
    members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint
    a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Vesting a Reserve in the Opotiki Agricultural and
Pastoral Association (Incorporated).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
second day of August, 1893.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was permanently reserved for an agricultural and
pastoral society's show-ground by notification in the New
Zealand Gazette, No. 82, of the tenth day of July, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-four: And whereas, in the
opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that the said land
should be vested in the Opotiki Agricultural and Pastoral
Association (Incorporated):

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section
of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare
that from and after the day of the date hereof the reserve
mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the
Opotiki Agricultural and Pastoral Association (Incorporated),
in trust, for a show-ground.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those parcels of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 6 acres and 14 perches, more
or less, and known as Allotments Nos. 229, 230, 231, 232,
233, 234, 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250, 251, 252, 253,
254, 255, 256, 257, 258, 259, and 260 of Section No. 1, of the
Town of Opotiki, in the Parish of Waioteka, in the Opotiki
Survey District:β€”

Allotments Nos. 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, and 250,
containing 2 acres and 14 perches, more or less: Bounded
towards the north by Albert Street, 670 links; towards the
east by the Otara River; towards the south by Victoria
Street, 170 links; towards the west by Allotment No. 242,
250 links; again towards the south by Allotments Nos. 242,
241, 240, and 239, 400 links; and again towards the west by
Vogel Street, 250 links.

Allotments Nos. 229, 230, 231, 232, 233, 234, 251, 252, 253,
254, 255, 256, 257, 258, 259, and 260, containing 4 acres,
more or less: Bounded towards the north by Albert Street,
1000 links; towards the east by Vogel Street, 250 links;
towards the south by Allotments Nos. 238, 237, 236, and 235,
400 links; again towards the east by Allotment No. 235
aforesaid, 250 links; again towards the south by Victoria
Street, 600 links; and towards the west by St. John Street,
500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Vesting a Reserve in the Rakaia Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
second day of August, 1893.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
was reserved permanently as a gravel-pit on the
thirteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-two:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expe-
dient to vest the said land in the inhabitants of the Rakaia
Road District:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section
of "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," doth hereby declare
that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve
mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in
"the inhabitants of the Rakaia Road District," in trust,
for a gravel-pit, for the use of the inhabitants of the Rakaia
Road District, and under the control and management of the
Board of such district.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 39 perches,
more or less, being part of Rural Section No. 4750, Block
VIII., Selwyn Survey District. Bounded towards the north
by the other portion of Section No. 4750; towards the south-
east by a public road; and towards the south-west by a
public road.

Fixing Sitting of Court of Appeal.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
second day of August, 1893.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Court of Appeal Act, 1882," it is
enacted that the Court shall hold its sittings at
such times and places as shall from time to time be fixed
by the Governor in Council, and proclaimed in the Govern-
ment Gazette twenty-one days at least before the times so
fixed respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby fix that a
sitting of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand shall be held
within the Supreme Court House, in the City of Wellington,
upon Friday, the fifteenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-three, at ten o'clock in the fore-
noon.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries
Act, 1882," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

ADAM HUNTER

to be a Trustee, in the place of Robert Huskinson Hodgson,
resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the
Cust and West Eyreton Cemetery, in conjunction with the
other persons appointed by warrant under the hand of His
Excellency the Governor on the fourteenth day of Septem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this seventeenth day of August, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-three.
