A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto is a State forest under the control of the Commissioner of State Forests appointed under "The New Zealand State Forests Act, 1885" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), and the said land is now no longer required for State-forest purposes: And whereas plans showing the extent and position of the said land, and a statement of the reasons why it is no longer required for State-forest purposes, have been laid before both Houses of Parliament for a period of thirty days, and no resolution has been passed by either of such Houses objecting to the issue of this Proclamation:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by "The New Zealand State Forests Act Amendment Act, 1888," and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke the Proclamation specified in the second column of the Schedule hereto, in so far as it relates to the land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare that from and after such date the land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be no longer subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
FIRST COLUMN.
All that area in the Southland Land District, situated in Stewart Island, containing 143,950 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the west by a due-north line through Rakeahua Mountain, and extending from the ocean, on the south, to a point where it is intersected by a due-west line drawn from a point on the Murray River distant two miles from its mouth; towards the north by that line and by Murray River; and towards the north-east, east, and south-east generally by the ocean: including the adjacent islands, and excluding all land which has been alienated from the Crown.
SECOND COLUMN.
A Proclamation dated the 24th February, 1886, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 11, of the 4th March, 1886, page 253.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of June, 1893.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was permanently reserved for the use of the Ngati-rangiwewehi Tribe, under the provisions of the one hundred and forty-fourth section of "The Land Act, 1877," on the fourth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, and the said land still remains vested in the Crown for the purposes aforesaid: And whereas it is expedient to vest the said land in the Public Trustee, under the powers hereinafter mentioned, upon the trusts and for the purposes hereinafter particularly set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fifteenth section of "The Public Trust Office Act, 1872," and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby vest the land so permanently reserved as aforesaid, and which is described in the Schedule hereto, in the Public Trustee, who shall forthwith enter upon and take possession thereof for the purposes of this Order in Council, to hold the said land unto the Public Trustee and his successors from the day of the date of this Order in Council in trust for the use and benefit of the several persons who now are or hereafter may be members of the tribe of aboriginal natives of New Zealand known as the Ngatirangiwewehi Tribe, with power to lease the said land, or any part thereof, for any term not exceeding twenty-one years in possession, and with or without a right of renewal for a like or any shorter period, subject to a new assessment of rent at every such renewal, and subject also to such conditions and covenants as the Public Trustee and his successors think fit on the original or any subsequent letting, including in every case a right to the lessee to have valuation for his improvements secured to him, the same to be ascertained and paid as shall be provided in the lease. And it is hereby declared that every lease shall be disposed of by public auction or public tender, after due notification thereof has been given by advertisement in a newspaper circulating at Tauranga; that the rent to be reserved shall be the best improved rent obtainable at the time; and that no fine, premium, or foregift shall in any case be taken upon any lease: and also that the rents, issues, and profits from time to time derived or received by the Public Trustee and his successors from the said land shall be paid to any person or persons who may from time to time be appointed by the Native Land Court to receive the same or any part thereof; and the receipt or receipts in writing of any such person or persons for the moneys therein expressed to be received shall be a good discharge to the Public Trustee and his successors. And, lastly, it is hereby declared that, subject as aforesaid, the said land is hereby vested in the Public Trustee and his successors, subject to all trusts now attaching to the said land, and also subject to the provisions of "The Public Trust Office Act, 1872," and all Acts in force amending the same; and also to all the provisions of "The Native Reserves Act, 1882," and the Acts in force amending the same, so far as applicable and not inconsistent with the several trusts hereby declared and defined.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 25 perches, more or less, situated in the Parish of Te Papa, Tauranga Survey District, and being Allotment No. 302, Section No. 1, Town of Tauranga. Bounded towards the north by Lot 309, 91.5 links; towards the east by Cliff Road, 175 links; towards the south by Monmouth Street, 91.5 links; and towards the west by Lot 303, 175 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
