Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of Auck-
land, Taranaki, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, and
Southland.
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two hundred and thirty-fifth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or par-
ticular description, and whether the same has been sur-
veyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding
that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do
hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land
Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, Wellington, Canterbury,
Otago, and Southland, described in the Schedule hereunder
written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified in
each case at the end of the description of the land so in-
tended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing 3 acres 1 rood 12 perches, more or less, being
Section No. 31 of the Suburbs of Mangere. Bounded
towards the north by a road, 193 links; towards the east by
the Ararata Creek; towards the south by a road, 303 links;
and towards the west by a road, 1059 links: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. As a site for a quarry.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 19 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 177A, Parish of Manurewa. Bounded towards
the north by Sections Nos. 177B and 176, 1713 links; towards
the east by Section No. 177, 1105 links; towards the south
by a road, 1000 links; and towards the west by Section No.
171, 1355 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As a water reserve.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 8 acres 3 roods 6 perches,
more or less, being Section No. 177B, Parish of Manurewa.
Bounded towards the north by Section No. 172 and the ter-
mination of a road, 922 links; towards the east by Section
No. 176, 928 links; towards the south by Section No. 177A,
812 links; and towards the west by Section No. 171 and
Section No. 172 aforesaid, 263. and 750 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. As a site for a quarry.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 21 perches,
more or less, being Section No. 181, Parish of Manurewa.
Bounded towards the north by Section No. 174, 357 links;
towards the east by a road, 207 links; and towards the south
and west by Section No. 173, 385, 192, and 400 links: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less. As a site for a quarry.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being
the north-east middle portion of Section No. 97, Parish of
Oruawharo. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 97A
—being a closed road—and by a public road, 970 links; on
the east and south by the southern portion of Section No. 97
of parish aforesaid, 250 and 960 links respectively; and
towards the west by the middle portion of Section No. 97 of
parish aforesaid, 800 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. As a site for a public hall.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 29 perches, more or less, being
Section No. 329B of the Parish of Piromga. Bounded
towards the north-east by a public road-line, 100 links wide,
25 links; towards the south-east, south-west, north-west,
again towards the north-east, and again towards the north-
west by Section No. 329 of the Parish of Piromga aforesaid,
275, 100, 150, 75, and 125 links respectively: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. For a burial-ground.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Auckland,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 20 perches, more
or less, being Section No. 329A of the Parish of Piromga.
Bounded towards the north and east by Section No. 329 of
the Parish of Piromga aforesaid, 400 and 300 links respec-
tively; towards the south by the Mangauika Block, 350
links; and towards the west by the Mangauika Stream: be
all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a burial-ground.
TARANAKI.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Taranaki,
containing by admeasurement 530 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 1, Block XII., Ngaere Survey District. Bounded
on the north by Sections Nos. 10, 2, and 3, 9609 links; on
the east by the Tutaeariari No. 1 Block, 7490·2 links; on the
south by Section No. 32 of Block XV., 8394·9 links; and on
the west by Sections Nos. 5, 6, and 7 of Block XI., 10146·5
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the
Chief Surveyor, New Plymouth. For a recreation reserve.
WELLINGTON.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 269 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 33, Block IV., Mangaone Survey District.
Bounded on the north-east by Section No. 28; on the south-
east by Section No. 30; on the west by a public road; and
on the north-west by Sections Nos. 16 and 17: as the same
is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, Wellington. For primary education.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 34 perches, more
or less, being Section No. 1, Block V., Wairarapa Survey
District. Bounded on the north by a public road; on the
east by Section No. 2; on the south by Section No. 107; and
on the west by Section No. 107 and by a stream known as
Cross Creek: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a school-
site.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington,
containing by admeasurement 11 acres 1 rood, more or less,
being Section No. 162, Township of Makuri, Makuri Survey
District. Bounded on the north by the Makuri River; on
the south-east by a public road; on the south by a public
road; and on the west by a public road and by the Makuri
River: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington. For a recrea-
tion reserve.
CANTERBURY.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury,
containing by admeasurement 150 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 2979 (in red), Block VI., Geraldine Survey Dis-
trict. Bounded on the eastward by the Orari River; and
on the westward by Sections Nos. 23648, 29141, and partly by
Reserve No. 1862: as the same is delineated on the plan de-
posited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Christchurch.
For river-conservation purposes.
OTAGO.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Otago, con-
taining by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Sec-
tion No. 28, Block X., Maniototo Survey District. Bounded
on the north by Section No. 12 of same block, 695½ links; on
the east by Section No. 18 of same block, 790½ links; on the
south by a road-line, 710 links; and on the west by Section
No. 12 of same block, 647½ links: be all the aforesaid link-
ages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan de-
posited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin. For an
addition to the school-site.
SOUTHLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Southland,
containing by admeasurement 8 acres 3 roods, more or
less, being Section No. 1, Block III., Feldwick Township.
Bounded on the north by Section No. 95, Waiatu District,
1078·4 links; on the east by Section No. 2, Block III., 777·4
links; on the south by Rutland Street, 1172 links; and on
the west by main road, 783 links: be all the aforesaid link-
ages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan de-
posited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Invercargill. For
a school-site.
All that parcel of land in the Land District of Southland,
containing by admeasurement 1 rood 37 perches, more or
less, being Sections Nos. 6 and 15, Block VII., Hirstfield
Township. Bounded on the north-west by Sections Nos. 5
and 16, Block VII., 500 links; on the north-east by Salford
Street, 100 links; on the south-east by Sections Nos. 14 and
7, Block VII., 500 links; and on the south-west by Truro
Street, 100 links (excepting out of the land herein described
that part intersected by water-race): be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan
deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Invercargill.
For a site for public library.
