Special Order made by the Patea County Council, altering
the Boundaries of Ridings and constituting a new Riding.

THE following special order, made by the Patea County
Council, is published in accordance with "The
Counties Act, 1886."

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Patea County Council, dividing
the County into Three Ridings.

RESOLVED, That the boundaries of the Otoia Riding be
altered, and that they be as follows:—

Otoia Riding.—Bounded towards the west by the Hawera
County; towards the south by the ocean; towards the north
by the Whenuakura River to its main tributary, the Moe-
awatea, thence by the Moeawatea to the Stratford County;
towards the north by the Stratford County. Such riding to
return four members.

That the boundaries of the Waverley Riding be altered, and
that they be as follows:—

Waverley Riding.—Bounded towards the west by the
Whenuakura River; towards the north by the confiscation
boundary; towards the east by the Waitotara River;
and towards the south by the ocean. Such riding to return
four members.

That a new riding be formed to be called the Kapara
Riding, bounded as follows:—

Kapara Riding.—Towards the east by the Waitotara
County; towards the north by the northern boundary of the
Patea County; towards the west by the Otoia Riding; and
towards the south by the Waverley Riding. Such riding to
return one member.

Such special order to come into full force only at the
general election of the Council in November, 1893, except so
far and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing
any roll or otherwise providing for such election.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was duly
made by the Patea County Council on Thursday, the 1st
day of June, 1893, as required by "The Counties Act, 1886."

BY virtue of the provisions of "The Stock Diseases Act,
1888," I, the Governor, with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, do by this my Proclamation
hereby rescind the Proclamation dated the 27th day of April,
1892, and published in the Government Gazette on the 5th
day of May, 1892, prohibiting for a period of two years the
importation of sheep and sheepskins from the Colony of New
Zealand.

Given under my hand and the public seal of the said
province, at Adelaide, this third day of May, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
ninety-three, and in the fifty-sixth year of Her
Majesty's reign.

Prizes for Collections of Noxious Weeds and Insects.—

Department of Agriculture,
Wellington, 7th April, 1893.

PRIZES offered for collections of noxious weeds and
insects, &c.:—
Collection of noxious weeds: First prize, £10.; second, £5.
All specimens must have been gathered in the colony.
Each specimen must be mounted on paper 18in. by 11in.,
and bear, if possible, the popular and scientific name, also
the locality where gathered.
Collection of insects injurious to New Zealand vegetation,
and their natural enemies and parasites: First prize, £10.;
second, £5.
All insects must be properly set and named, also have
locality tickets attached.
The collections winning the prizes to become the property
of the department, where they will remain on exhibition
with the name of the collector affixed.
All collections for competition must be delivered at the
office of the Secretary for Agriculture, at the Government
Buildings, at Wellington, not later than the 31st December,
1893.
Each collection must be marked with a motto, and
accompanied by a sealed envelope containing a copy of such
motto, together with the full name and address of the
exhibitor.
The unsuccessful exhibits will be returned to the owners
and carriage-free.
