These lands are close to the Matahura River. Sections 402 and 403, fern land and swamp; close to Rangiriri. Sections 430 and 431, clay lands, covered with fern and scrub. Section 438, poor land, situated on the Whangamarino River, navigable to within 13 chains of section. Section 443, about one-fourth swamp, growing flax and tall scrub, remainder poor clay hills; situated at Waikare Lake, near Waerenga Settlement. Section 446, undulating fern and tea-tree land of medium quality; about six miles from Wairangi Railway-station, and containing about 15 acres of mixed bush. Section 472, one-fourth open fern and tea-tree land, balance mixed bush of generally broken character; situated about eighteen miles from Wairangi Railway-station by road.
