Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges
in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.
THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers conferred by “The
Government Railways Act, 1887,” do hereby make the fol-
lowing alterations in and additions to the scale of fares,
rates, and charges on the New Zealand Government rail-
ways, to come into force on and after the 4th day of May,
1893:—
PART III.—GOODS: REGULATIONS.
HAWERA INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.
Goods consigned for exhibit at the Industrial Exhibition
to be held at Hawera from the 24th to the 30th May, 1893,
will be carried free on the New Zealand Government rail-
ways, provided that they shall be so carried at the sole risk
of the consignors, and that each package shall be consigned
to the Secretary of the Exhibition, and marked legibly “For
exhibit at the Industrial Exhibition, Hawera.” The loading
and unloading must be done at the expense of the con-
signors. In the event of such exhibits being sold the full
railway charges must be paid.
Exhibits returning may be conveyed free, provided no sale
or exchange has been effected. A certificate to this effect
must be produced, signed by the Secretary of the Exhibi-
tion, before the goods can be received for transit free of
charge.
The common seal of the New Zealand

RESERVES ACT, 1892.”
NOTICE to NATIVE OWNERS and LESSEE of a
MEETING to be held at the COURTHOUSE, Opu-
nake, at 10 o’clock a.m., on Thursday, the 18th
May, 1893, to fix the Rent for a NEW LEASE to
RICHARD CHING of Sections 55, 56, and 57,
Block IX., and Section 1, Block XV., OPUNAKE,
being the Land comprised in Memorandum of
Lease registered No. 604.
TO Wiremu Kingi Matakatea, Ruia Waita-
moko, Tukino, Ngapere, Ngawakakaha,
Waipounamu, Tamure, Ratahi, Ngataioma, Mata-
nui, Ngauta, Eruini, Ruakere, Hineawe, Kukutai,
Tamaki, Mahoka, Mihi teao, Te Huna, Tuteuruo-
ho, and the other Native owners of all those pieces
of land situate in the Opunake Survey District,
being Sections 55, 56, and 57, Block IX., and Sec-
tion 1, Block XV., and containing by admeasure-
ment in all 471 acres 1 rood 26 perches (more or
less), being the land comprised in memorandum
of lease registered No. 604, to Richard Ching, of
Opunake, farmer, lessee:
Whereas the above-named Richard Ching has
given notice to me, under the provisions of
section 8 of “The West Coast Settlement Re-
serves Act, 1892,” that he desires to obtain under
that section a new lease of the land above de-
scribed; and I consider his application ought to
be given effect to: Now, therefore, I do hereby
appoint a meeting to take place between the said
Richard Ching and all the Native owners of the
above-described land, for the purpose of fixing
the rent to be paid for the said land for the first
twenty-one years of the new lease, and I fix
the Courthouse, Opunake, as the place where,
and Thursday, the 18th day of May, 1893, at 10
o’clock in the forenoon, as the time when, such
meeting shall take place.

2 roods (more or less), being the land comprised
in memorandum of lease registered No. 599, to
Richard Ching, of Opunake, farmer, lessee:

Whereas the above-named David Wilkie has
given notice to me under the provisions of sec-
tion 8 of “The West Coast Settlement Reserves
Act, 1892,” that he desires to obtain under that
section a new lease of the land above described;
and I consider his application ought to be given
effect to. Now, therefore, I do hereby appoint
a meeting to take place between the said David
Wilkie and all the Native owners of the above
described land, for the purpose of fixing the
rent to be paid for the said land for the first
twenty-one years of the new lease, and I fix
the Courthouse, Manaia, as the place where, and
Monday, the 22nd day of May, 1893, at 10 o’clock
in the forenoon, as the time, when such meeting
shall take place.

Act, 1892,” that he desires to obtain under that
section a new lease of the land above described;
and I consider his application ought to be given
effect to. Now, therefore, I do hereby appoint
a meeting to take place between the said Edward
Wills and all the Native owners of the above-
described land, for the purpose of fixing the rent
to be paid for the said land for the first twenty-
one years of the new lease, and I fix the Court-
house, Manaia, as the place where, and Monday,
the 22nd day of May, 1893, at 2 o’clock in the
afternoon, as the time, when such meeting shall
take place.
