Rural Lands in the Canterbury Land District open for Sale or Selection.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth
section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having
received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the
rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the seventh day
of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule
may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on lease
in perpetuity, or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be
selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or
leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and I do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased
under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

This section is situated about four miles south-west of the West Oxford Railway-station, and has frontage on Schofield
and Esperanza Roads. It comprises open level land of fair quality. This section is weighted with £74, being value of
dwelling-house, outbuildings, fencing, and planting, which sum must be deposited with the application, in addition to the
usual deposit and fees.

This section is situated between the Main South Railway and the Mount Somers Branch Railway, about one mile west
of the Tinwald Railway-station, and comprises open level land of poor quality. This section is weighted with £156 4s., being
value of dwelling-house, outbuildings, and fencing, which sum must be deposited with the application, in addition to the
usual deposit and fees.

This section is situated on the Gawler Downs, adjacent to the properties of Messrs. Peter and Roberts, and is distant
about ten miles in a westerly direction from the Mount Somers Railway-station; it comprises hilly land, well grassed.

This section is situated on the road from Badham's to Rangitata, about nine miles and a half in a southerly direction
from the South Rangitata Railway-station, and comprises light stony land, poorly grassed and not suitable for cropping.

This section is situated near the Four Peaks Homestead, between the Haeaetemoana River and the south branch
of the Waihi River, and comprises fairly good land, part ploughable.

This section is situated on the Raincliff Estate, between the Opuha and Opihi Rivers, about nine miles in an easterly
direction from the Fairlie Railway-station, and comprises rough hilly land, the greater portion being only fit for pastoral
purposes.

This section is situated on the Hunter's Hills, near the head-waters of the Whiterock and Motukaka Rivers, and
adjacent to the Pareora property of E. Elworthy, Esq., at a distance of about twelve miles in a south-westerly direction
from the Cave Railway-station. The section comprises fairly well-grassed hills, with detached site for yards and woolshed,
accessible for drays.

This section is situated on the eastern slope of the Hunter's Hills, on the south side of the Otaio River, adjoining the
freehold property of R. H. Rhodes, Esq., and the leaseholds of Messrs. Teschemaker, Mann, and Squires, at a distance of
about fifteen miles in a westerly direction from the St. Andrews Railway-station, and comprises fairly well-grassed hills.
This section is weighted with £131 12s. 6d., being the value of about five miles and a half of wire fencing, which sum must
be deposited with the application, in addition to the usual deposit and fees.
UNSURVEYED SECOND-CLASS LAND.

This section comprises part of the block formerly known as Barker's Run, at the head-waters of the north branch of
the Haeaetemoana River, and comprises fairly grassed rough hilly land.
