CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded
towards the north-west generally by the north-west bounda-
ries of Pukekura and Hautapu Parishes to Pukemoremore
Trig. Station; towards the north generally by the Waikato
Confiscation line to the southern corner of Maunganui Block,
by the north-west, north, and north-east boundary-lines of
Hinuwer a No. 2 Block, by the right bank of the Waikato
River, by the north-western boundary-lines of the Waipa and
Mangawhara Blocks, by the Mangawhara and Mangawhero
Rivers, by Thames River, by Wairere Stream to its source,
and by a right line due east to the Tauranga Confiscation
boundary-line; towards the north-east generally by the Tau-
ranga Confiscation boundary-line to Poutihi; towards the
east generally by a right line, thence to Te Whetu Native
settlement, by a right line thence in direction of Atiamuri,
on Waikato River, to where it is intersected by a right
line joining Paeroa and Uraura Trig. Stations, by that line to
Uraura Trig. Station, and by a right line thence in the direc-
tion of the mouth of Waihora Stream at Lake Taupo to Wai-
kato River; towards the south and south-west by that river
to the Little Waipa River; again towards the south by a
right line to Maungatautari Trig. Station, by a right line
thence to the south end of the line forming the boundary
between the Parishes of Puniu and Pukekura; and thence
again towards the south-west by the Parishes of Puniu and
Ngaroto.

TE AWAMUTU DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded
towards the east by the ocean from Mokau River to Kawhia
Harbour; towards the north and north-east by Kawhia
Harbour to the mouth of Kauri Creek, and by a right line to
the summit of Pirongia; towards the south-west by the
south-west boundary of the Parish of Pirongia to Te Rehi
Range, where a Native track crosses the summit of the said
range; towards the north generally by the Parish of Kara-
mu to the Waipa River, by the Parishes of Tuhikaramea, Te
Rapa, and Pukekura to the south end of the line forming
the boundary between Puniu and Pukekura Parishes, by a
right line thence to Mangatautari Trig. Station, and by a
right line thence to the confluence of Little Waipa River
and the Waikato River; towards the north-east and again
towards the north by the Waikato River to where its left
bank is intersected by a right line drawn between the mouth
of the Waihora Stream at Lake Taupo and Uraura Trig.
Station; towards the south-east by that line; and towards
the south-west generally by a right line drawn in direction
of Pukearuhe Mountain to the Taranaki Provincial District
boundary-line, and by that boundary-line and by the Mokau
River to the ocean.

MIDDLEMARCH DISTRICT.

All that area in the Otago Land District bounded towards
the north-west generally by part of a leading-spur from Lam-
merlaw Range to Soutra Hill, by a right line thence to Rock
and Pillar Mountain, and by a right line thence to the
northernmost corner of Run 213A; towards the north gene-
rally by the northern boundary-lines of Run 213A and of
Block II., Strath-Taieri Survey District, to the Taieri River;
towards the east by that river; again towards the north by
Block III., Strath-Taieri Survey District, and Block VI.,
Budle Survey District; again towards the east by the eastern
boundary-lines of Blocks VII. and XI., Strath-Taieri Survey
District, to Trig. Station A, Strath-Taieri; thence towards
the north-east by a right line to the Hummock; and
thence by a right line in the direction of Silver Peak to where
it is intersected by a due east line from the source of Ross's
Creek; and towards the south generally by the said due east
line by Ross's Creek to its confluence with the Taieri River;
thence by the said Taieri River to the confluence of Sutton
Stream with that river; and thence by Sutton Stream to
Stony Creek, and by that creek to its source; and thence by
a due west line to the summit of the leading-spur between
Soutra Hill and the Lammerlaw Range.

WEST TAIERI DISTRICT.

All that area in the Otago Land District bounded towards
the north-west by part of the leading-spur from Lammerlaw
Range to Soutra Hill; towards the north generally by a due
east line to the source of Stony Creek; thence by that creek
to Sutton Stream; thence by the said Sutton Stream to the
Taieri River; thence by the Taieri River to the confluence of
Ross's Creek with that river; thence by Ross's Creek to its
source; thence by a due east line to a point where it is inter-
sected by a right line drawn from Silver Peak to the Hum-
mock; thence towards the north-east by a right line from
the said intersection to Silver Peak; thence towards the
south by a leading-spur to the nearest source of Little Mount
Allen Creek, and by that creek to the Taieri River; thence
towards the south-east by that river, and by the south-eastern
shore of Waihola Lake; and towards the south-west generally
by the north-western shore of the said lake to the mouth of
the Waipori River; thence by the Waipori River to the
north-western boundary-line of the West Taieri Hundred;
thence by that boundary-line to a point bearing S. 45Β° E. from
Waitahuna Hill; thence by a right line to the said hill;
thence by a right line to Trig. Station G, Block VIII., Wai-
pori Survey District; thence by Section No. 5 of the
said block to Waipori River; thence by that river to the
Verterburn; thence by the Verterburn to Block VI. of the
said Waipori Survey District; thence by the western boun-
dary of that block, and a road forming the northern
boundaries of Sections Nos. 8 and 4, Block V., and forming
the north-east boundaries of Sections Nos. 5, 4, and 3, Block
II., and following up the leading-ridge to the summit of the
watershed between Waipori River and Lee Stream; thence
by that watershed and the watershed between the Waipori
River and Deep Stream to Lammerlaw Range.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the first day of May, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Auckland, this thirtieth day of March,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hun-
dred and ninety-three.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in the Governor by "The Registration of Births
and Deaths Act, 1875," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish
the existing registration districts known as the Bay of Islands,
Wairoa, Rotorua, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, and West Taieri
Districts; and do proclaim and declare that the territory
heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby
divided anew into nine registration districts, the names
whereof shall be the Bay of Islands, Ohaoawai, Taupo, Wai-
roa, Rotorua, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, Middlemarch, and
West Taieri Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be
coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts
bearing the same names as they are set forth in a Procla-
mation of even date herewith, made under the provisions
of "The Marriage Act, 1880."

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the first day of May, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section four of "The Public Works Acts
Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may,
upon the terms and conditions in the said section men-
tioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that any
bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be
constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea
respectively, shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
