In Bankruptcy.—In the District Court of Timaru and Oamaru (being a local Court of Bankruptcy), holden at Oamaru.
No. 4.—In the matter of “The Bankruptcy Act, 1892,” and of the bankruptcy of MATTHEW SHORTELL, of Oamaru, in the Provincial District of Otago, in New Zealand, Contractor, a debtor.
THE above-named debtor having filed a petition to be adjudged a bankrupt in the District Court at Oamaru, I hereby summon the first general meeting of creditors in the estate, to be held at the Courthouse (Committee-room), Oamaru, on Tuesday, the 4th April, 1893, at 3 p.m.

TRANSMISSION No. 624.—Notice is hereby given that ISABELLA BAIN, of Wyndham, Widow, claiming as Devisee under the will of JAMES BAIN, late of Wyndham, aforesaid, Carter, deceased, has applied to be registered Proprietor of Section 9, Block V., Town of Wyndham, being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. xxxviii., folio 161; and that she will be so registered unless caveat forbidding the same be lodged within one month from the date of the gazetting of this notice.

Private Advertisements.
WHATAUPOKO ROAD BOARD.
NOTICE is hereby given that this Board intends to execute a public work, namely, the extension of Stout Street, North Gisborne, through Mangapapa Block, and to take for that purpose the following land: 1 acre 2 roods 5 perches, being portion of Section 7, Block III., Turanganui Survey District, and known as Whataupoko IV. or Mangapapa.
Any person who objects to the taking of this land, or who will be injuriously affected by the proposed extension of the street, is required to state such objection in writing, and send it to the Board’s Office, Gisborne, on or before the 20th April, 1893.
The works proposed are road-formation and drains for the passage of surface-water. The owner’s name is H. Gully. The plan of the land to be taken may be seen at the office of the Board, Gisborne, daily.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 30s. per annum, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.
Advertisements are charged at the uniform rate of 6d. per line for each insertion.
For statements under the Mining Act the charge is 23s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before two o’clock of the day preceding publication.
Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post-office money-orders should be made payable.
Postage- or duty-stamps cannot be received in payment from any place at which postal notes or post-office orders are issued.
Booksellers and Advertising Agents will be allowed a commission at the rate of 5 per cent.
NO ADVERTISEMENT WILL BE INSERTED WITHOUT PREPAYMENT BEING MADE.
