Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth
section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, David, Earl of Glasgow,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received
the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the
said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural
lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale
or selection on and after the twelfth day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and ninety-three; and also that
the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option
of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for
occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity,
or, in respect of any lands containing or supposed to contain
any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease
in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at
which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that
the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

SCHEDULE.

UNSURVEYED LAND.—MANGONUI COUNTY.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District,
situate in the parish of Maungataniwha East, and contain-
ing approximately 1,150 acres. Bounded towards the north
generally by a public road; towards the north-east by part
of the south-western boundary of the Parish of Kohumaru;
towards the east by Section No. 42 of the Parish of Maunga-
taniwha East; towards the south generally by Section No.
37 of the same parish, and by a forest reserve; and towards
the west generally by Sections Nos. 67, 65, and 50 of the
Parish of Maungataniwha East aforesaid to the point of
commencement.

All broken forest land, of good quality, mostly a chocolate-
coloured soil, well watered; situated close to and adjoining
the Fern Flat Settlement, about fourteen miles from
Mangonui; and is second-class land.

Cash price, 10s. per acre; occupation with right of pur-
chase, 6d. per acre; lease in perpetuity, 4·8d. per acre.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-second day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-three.

Land open for Selection under "The Naval and Military
Settlers' and Volunteers' Land Act, 1891."

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 25th February, 1893.

IT is hereby notified that, in terms of section 8 of
"The Naval and Military Settlers' and Volunteers'
Land Act, 1891," the Land Boards of the under-mentioned
districts have decided that the land specially set apart for
the satisfaction of remission certificates shall be open as
unsurveyed land on and after the 31st March, 1893, at the
land offices of the respective districts.

Where more than one application for the same allotment
is made on the same day, the priority of choice shall be
decided by lot between the applicants.

A holder of a remission certificate may select any area, the
price whereof, according to the rates per acre specified
against the block of land, does not exceed in amount the sum
of money to be remitted under such certificate; and with his
application for such area shall deposit his remission cer-
tificate.

If personal attendance is not possible, duly-authorised
agents shall deposit the applications, together with the
scrip, at the District Land Office, so as to make the selec-
tion, as otherwise the land will be allotted by the Commis-
sioners according to the order of choice decided by the
ballot.

Selectors must conform to a general scheme approved by
the Commissioners of Crown Lands, and shall in every
instance extend to the back line, unless otherwise approved.

Applications must be made at the District Land Offices
between the hours of 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. to 4
p.m., except on Saturday, when the hours are 10 a.m. to
1 p.m.

Plans may be inspected at the several District Land
Offices.

TARANAKI.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by
admeasurement 3,000 acres, more or less, situated in the
Egmont Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west
by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 9, 10, and
13, Block XII., Egmont Survey District; towards the north-
east by the Derby Road; towards the south by Block IV.,
Kaupokonui Survey District; and towards the west by
Forest Reserve. Prices, from £1 to £1 10s. per acre,
