WIROKINO ROAD BOARD.—RESULT OF POLLING FOR LOAN.
I, John Davies, Chairman of the Wirokino Road Board, do
hereby notify that the result of the poll taken at Shannon on
the 1st February, 1893, on the proposal to raise a loan of
£500 for the Ferry Road was as follows :-
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 119 ; number of
votes exercisable, 122 ; ratepayers voting in favour, 57 ; votes
recorded in favour, 60 ; votes not recorded, 62 ; ratepayers
not voting, 62.
I therefore hereby declare that the said proposal was
rejected.

Road Board, is published in accordance with "The
Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT it is the intention of the Manchester Road Board,
under the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1886," and under and by virtue of a warrant issued under
the hand of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand,
dated the 21st day of July, 1892, authorising the Manchester
Road Board to construct a bridge over the Oroua River, and
apportioning the cost of the said bridge, to borrow the sum of
£1,042 for the purpose of providing five-twelfths of the cost of
erecting a traffic-bridge over the Oroua River at Aorangi on
the Feilding—Bunnythorpe Road, and making the approaches
thereto, and all other work necessary for the due completion
of the said bridge, in accordance with the above-mentioned
warrant ; and that a special rate of one-fiftieth of a penny
in the pound be made upon the rateable value of the whole
of the rateable property (Crown and Native lands occupied
by Native owners excepted) within the Manchester Road
District for the purpose of paying the interest on the above
loan of £1,042, to be borrowed under "The Government
Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886;" such rate to be an annual-
recurring rate for twenty-six years, and payable, in equal
instalments, at the Board's office, on the 1st day of April and
October in each year.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
made by the Manchester Road Board in accordance with
"The Road Boards Act, 1882."

THAT to secure the repayment of a loan of £600, borrowed
by the Board under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," for the purpose of forming, metalling, and bridging a portion
of the Totara Road, a special rate of 1½d. in the pound be
struck on Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9, Block XVII.,
Tahoraita Survey District; such rate to be an annually-
recurring rate for the period of twenty-six years, and to be
payable in one sum on the 1st day of March in each year.
I hereby certify that the above special order was made by
the Kumeroa Road Board on the 11th day of February,
1893.

ROCK REPORTED, RANGAOUNOU BAY, NORTH-EAST COAST,
NORTH ISLAND OF NEW ZEALAND.

Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 15th February, 1893.
CAPTAIN A. F. JOHNSON, of the s.s. "Staffa," reports
having discovered a sunken rock in Rangaounou Bay
with only 13ft. water on it, and seventeen fathoms all round,
and with the following magnetic bearings: North end of
Moturoa, N.N.E., distant about three miles and a half ;
Mount Camel, W.N.W. ; and Puheki Mountain, S.S.E. Fur-
ther particulars will be given after a more minute survey.
