THE following special order, made by the Moa Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Moa Road Board on the 12th November, 1892; and confirmed on the 14th December, 1892.
THAT, to secure the repayment of a loan of £800, raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming the Kaimata Road North, Bristol Road East, and Rimutauteka Road, a special rate of 1¼d. in the pound be made and levied over the Kaimata North Special Rating District, comprising the following lands, viz.: Sections 9, 18, 19, 20, Block I., Huiroa Survey District, Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, Block II., Huiroa Survey District, Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, Block XIV., Waitara Survey District; such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and to be payable, in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st of January and the 1st of July in each year.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been made in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following special order was made on Monday, the 14th November, 1892, and confirmed on Saturday, the 17th December, 1892:—
That, to secure the repayment of a loan of £450, raised under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of forming, bridging, and graveling the York Road, a special rate of 1⅛d. in the pound be struck over the York Road Special Rating District, to comprise the following lands, viz.: Sections 227, 228, 229, 230, 231, 232, 240, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250, 251, 252, 253, 254, 255, 256, 257, 258, 259, 260, 261, 262, 263, Moa Survey District; such rate to be an annually-recurring rate for twenty-six years, and shall be payable, in two half-yearly instalments, on the 1st of January and the 1st of July in each year.
I hereby certify the above special order has been duly made as required by “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Notice of the Laying-off of a Road over Land in the Wellington Land District.
NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, under the authority of “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,” and its amendments, that the road described in the Schedule hereto was, on the 6th August, 1892, duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said colony, by a warrant of the date mentioned therein.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 28 perches, more or less, situated in Section No. 1, Block IV., Waitohu Survey District, and being a strip of land 25 links wide (portion of a road 50 links wide), the western boundary-line of which commences at the south-western corner of the said Section No. 1; and, traversing the said Section No. 1, proceeds in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 3710 links, more or less, along the north-west boundary-line of the said Section No. 1 to its north-western corner.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 28 perches, more or less, situated in Muhunoa No. 3A Block, Waitohu Survey District, and being a strip of land 25 links wide (portion of a road 50 links wide), the eastern boundary-line of which commences at the south-western corner of Section No. 1, Block IV., of said survey district; and, traversing the said Muhunoa No. 3A Block, proceeds in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 3710 links, more or less, along the north-west boundary-line of the said Section No. 1 to its north-western corner.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 29 perches, more or less, situated in Waiwiri East Block, Waitohu Survey District, being a road 50 links wide, the southern boundary-line of which commences at a point on the south-western boundary of Waiwiri East Block before mentioned distant 25 links, more or less, from the north-western corner of Section No. 1, Block IV., Waitohu Survey District; and, traversing the said Waiwiri East Block, proceeds in a north-westerly direction for a distance of 3865 links, more or less, along the south-western boundary of the said Waiwiri East Block.
As the above-described several parcels of land are delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 17215, deposited in the District Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured brown.
Date of Governor’s warrant, 1st August, 1892.

Assistant Teachers for Deaf-mute Institution, Sumner.

Wellington, 9th December, 1892.
APPLICATIONS will be received up to the 15th of January from persons desirous of appointment to the position of assistant teacher in this institution, where the deaf are taught to speak and to understand the speech of others. There are two vacancies.
Qualifications: A good education, an earnest spirit, a cheerful and amiable disposition, good character, and a sound constitution; also at least one year’s experience as a teacher of hearing children.
Age: Between eighteen and twenty-one.
Period of service: Five years from the 1st February next, including a probationary term of six months.
Salary, in addition to board in the institution: £90 for the first year, with an annual increase of £10, for a young man; and £60, with annual increase of £10, for a young woman.
A certificate will be given at the end of the five years to testify that the teacher has received complete training in the “articulation method” of instruction for the deaf.
Applications must be addressed to “The Secretary for Education, Wellington,” from whom further information may be obtained.

Friendly Societies’ Registry Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 10 of “The Friendly Societies Act, 1882,” by writing under his hand dated this 22nd day of December, 1892, cancelled the registry of the St. Albans Co-operative Money Club, on the ground that the said society has ceased to exist.

IN pursuance of regulations under “The Civil Service Reform Act, 1886,” notice is hereby given that for the Senior Examination of January, 1894, the period of literature will be the reign of Queen Anne, and the special books will be Shakespeare’s King Henry V. and Lamb’s Essays of Elia.
