Lands taken for Road in Upper Mahurangi Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken, under "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit,
the construction of a road in Upper Mahurangi Road Dis-
trict:

And whereas the Upper Mahurangi Road Board has laid
before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by maps,
and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act
and the amendments thereof:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities in me vested by "The Public
Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority
in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim
and declare that, from and after the date of the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in
the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the
construction of the said road.

All in the Land District of Auckland; as the said parcels of
land are more particularly delineated on the plan marked
S.G. 16841A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured
pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,

and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of De-
cember, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and ninety-two.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighth
day of December, 1892.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR P. A. BUCKLEY, K.C.M.G., PRE-
SIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Factories Act, 1891" (hereinafter
termed "the said Act"), it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time divide New Zealand, or any
portion thereof, into such districts as he shall think fit, and
notice of the constitution of every such district shall be
given in the Gazette as occasion requires:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act,
do hereby divide the portion of the said colony enumerated
in the Schedule hereto into a district for the purposes of the
said Act, the description and boundary whereof shall be that
set forth in the Schedule hereto; and I do hereby declare
that for the purposes of the said Act the district shall be
known by the name set over the description of such district
respectively.

SCHEDULE.

TAURANGA FACTORY DISTRICT.

Bounded towards the north generally by the waters of
Tauranga Harbour; towards the north-east generally by the
Waitao and Kaiati Streams, and by Papamoa Block (No. 4868
in red) to its southernmost corner; towards the south-east
generally by a right line; thence to Otawa Trig. Station, by
a right line thence to Tawhareano, by Waoku No. 2A (No.
4896^A in red), and by the south-eastern boundary-lines of
Te Papa Parish; and towards the west generally by the
Mangapapa and Wairoa Rivers.

ERRATUM.β€”In the Schedule to the Proclamation setting apart an area of 8,000 acres for mining purposes within the
boundaries of the lands available for selection by the New Zealand Midland Railway Company (Limited), published
in the New Zealand Gazette No. 94, of the 1st December, 1892, page 1591, the following words to be added at end, after
"Section No. 17," namely: "thence along the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 17, 9, and 8, Block IX., to the point of
commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold and leasehold sections and reserves."
