Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than thirty days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

Sections 41, Block II., and 41, Block IV., Mabel Hundred, are abandoned saw-mill workings; soil good black loam; altitude above sea-level about 400ft.; distance from Invercargill by road about eighteen miles. Section 13, Block XVII., New River Hundred, has about one-third open land, and about two-thirds covered with scrub; soil good black loam; height above sea-level about 20ft.; distance by road from Invercargill about ten miles. Section 41, Block II., is burdened with £126, being the value of house and other improvements; Section 41, Block IV., is burdened with £35, being the value of house, garden, &c.; Section 13 is burdened with £8 15s. for survey fees.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.

This section is mostly covered with scrub, a few red- and black-pine-trees, also a few kohai-trees; soil black loam, but broken and stony in parts; height above sea-level from 600ft. to 1,400ft.; distance from Mataura Township by road about fourteen miles. This section is burdened with £33 5s.

Vaccination Station appointed, Te Awamutu District.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Public Health Act, 1876,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the place mentioned in the second column of the Schedule hereto as and to be the place at which the Public Vaccinator appointed for the district mentioned in the first column of the said Schedule shall attend for the performance of vaccination, as required by the said Act; and I do hereby give notice that such Public Vaccinator will attend at the place aforesaid, for the purpose of performing such vaccination, on the days and at the hours set forth in the third column of the said Schedule opposite the name of such place; and, further, that at such place as last aforesaid the Public Vaccinator will attend, for the purpose of inspecting the progress of such vaccination in the persons so vaccinated, on the days and at the hours respectively set forth in the fourth column of the said Schedule opposite the name of such place.

Additional Rules of the Native Land Court, made under “The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1892.”
GLASGOW, Governor.
WHEREAS by “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,” as amended by “The Native Land Court Act 1886 Amendment Act, 1888,” and “The Native Land Court Acts Amendment Act, 1889,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, subject to the approval of the Governor in Council, from time to time to make rules for regulating the sittings, practice, forms, and procedure of the Court, and for the government of all persons acting under the said first-mentioned Act, and for fixing the fees to be paid under the said first-mentioned Act, the time and mode of payment, and for enforcing the payment thereof, and such rules from time to time by other rules to alter or revoke:
And whereas by “The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the said last-mentioned Act shall be read together with “The Native Land Court Act, 1886,” and the several Acts amending the same; and it is expedient that rules should be made in respect of the procedure to be observed under “The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1892:”
Now, therefore, I, Hugh Garden Seth-Smith, the Chief Judge of the said Court, do hereby, in exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Acts, make the rules following, which shall be read together with the rules of the Native Land Court dated the fourteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety, and the sixth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety:—
RULES.

In these rules “the said Act (1892)” shall mean “The Native Land (Validation of Titles) Act, 1892.”

All applications for inquiry under the said Act (1892) must be forwarded in duplicate to the Registrar of the Court in the District of Wellington, at his office in Wellington.

Each application must be in writing, and must be signed by the applicant, and have annexed thereto a translation in the Maori language, certified as correct by a licensed interpreter. Each application must describe the land by name or otherwise, and the district of the Registrar of the Native Land Court in which it is situate, and must contain the date of each deed, memorandum, or document in respect of which inquiry is applied for, and a short description of the contents thereof, together with the names of all persons who have, or are alleged to have, executed or signed the same.
