Regulations under "The Factories Act, 1891," and "The
Factories Act Amendment Act, 1892."

GLASGOW, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this first day
of December, 1892.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR P. A. BUCKLEY, K.C.M.G., PRE-
SING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Factories Act, 1891," it is enacted
that the Governor in Council may from time to time
make, alter, or repeal regulations not inconsistent with the
said Act for the several purposes specified in that behalf:
And whereas it is expedient to repeal the regulations made
by Order in Council, dated the twenty-fourth day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirty-first day
of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one,
and to make the regulations hereinafter set forth :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred upon him by the said Act, and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby repeal the regulations made by the said
Order in Council, dated the twenty-fourth day of December,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and doth hereby
make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto ; and
doth hereby declare that such last-mentioned regulations
shall come into force and take effect on and after the first
day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-
three.

SCHEDULE.

(1.) Form of Notice under Section 9 of Act.
The notice to be given under section 9 of "The Factories
Act, 1891 " (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), by
the occupier of a factory or work-room, and the particulars
to be set forth in such notice, shall be in the form prescribed
in the First Schedule hereto, or to the like effect. Every
such notice shall be served respectively on the Inspector
having authority in the district in which such factory or
work-room is situated, and on the local Board of Health
having jurisdiction in the said district, by delivering the
same personally or through the usual course of post, so as to
reach the said Inspector and the said Board within the time
limited by the said Act.

(2.) Form of Returns.
The occupier of every factory and work-room shall furnish
to the said Inspector, at such times as he may require in
each case, a return in the form prescribed in the Second
Schedule hereto, or to the like effect.

(3.) Table of Fees for Registration of Factories and
Work-rooms.
The fees to be taken and received for the registration of
factories and work-rooms are prescribed by the said Act as
amended by "The Factories Act Amendment Act, 1892,"
and are herein set forth as follows:—
(a.) For every factory or work-room in which more £ s. d.

than ten, and not more than thirty, persons

(c.) For every factory or work-room in which more
than two, and not more than ten, persons

Such fees shall be paid by the occupier of a factory or
work-room on or before the 31st day of January in each year
to the Inspector.
