SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT, for the purpose of securing payment of the sum of £125, borrowed by the Board under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” for the purpose of formation and metalling on Makakahi Road South, a special rate of 2½d. in the pound be made and levied on the rateable value for the time being of the following properties: Sections 26 and 27, Block VI., Mangaone, and Sections 35 and 36, Block VI., Eketahuna. Such rate shall be an annually-recurring rate, and shall be paid, in two half-yearly instalments for twenty-six years, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each year, until the debt is liquidated.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made.

POHANGINA ROAD BOARD.—RESULT OF POLL.
THE following is the result of poll of ratepayers on proposals to borrow £5,492 for construction of roads in the No. 2 Ward of the Pohangina Road Board District:—
Ratepayers on roll 63, representing 65 votes; votes recorded for the proposals, 42; number of ratepayers voting, 40; against, nil.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers voted in favour of the proposals, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half of the votes that can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers, I hereby declare the proposals to be carried.

THE following special order, made by the Taratahi-Carterton Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER passed by Taratahi-Carterton Road Board on the 3rd December, 1892.
THAT, for the purpose of providing for the annual interest and charges upon a Government loan of £3,000, under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886,” raised for the construction of a dray-traffic road from Wainuioru, near Cooper’s Taipos Station, to the East Coast, near Glenburn, this Board now strike a special rate, annually recurring for twenty-six years, of 3⅞d. in the pound, payable in half-yearly instalments on the 1st days of December and June in each such year, upon the properties benefited by the construction of the said work—that is to say, all the land situate within the following limits: Bounded towards the north by the Wairarapa North County from the mouth of the Kaiwhata River to the junction of the Kuamahanga Stream with the Wainuioru River; towards the west and south by the Wainuioru River and by Sections 282 and 237, Block VI., Wainuioru Survey District, Sections 284, 285, and 286, Block X., same survey district, Sections, 287, 281, and 296, Block XI., same survey district, Sections, 297, 300, and 221, Block XV., same survey district, Sections 223, 225, and 226, Block III., Mount Adams Survey District, Section 228, Block II., same survey district, Sections 229, 212, 7, 6, and 5, Block VI., same survey district, and Section 10, Block IX., same survey district; and towards the east by the Pacific Ocean from the mouth of the Waiura Stream to the mouth of the Kaiwhata River.
I certify that the foregoing special order has been duly made by the Taratahi-Carterton Road Board, at a meeting held on the 3rd day of December, 1892, as required by “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Commissioner of Trade and Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the under-mentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely:—

A portion of the first and a portion of the second floor of a building constructed of brick and roofed with iron, situate on Section 7, Wellington Harbour Board Endowment, Hunter Street, City of Wellington, to be known as

Bonus for the Manufacture of Pig-iron from Ironsand or Iron-ore.

Wellington, 24th February, 1892.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of £1 per ton will be paid on the production of the first 500 tons of pig-iron of marketable quality manufactured in the colony after this date from magnetic or titaniferous ironsand or iron-ore, all material, fuel, and fluxes being the produce of New Zealand, on the following conditions, that is to say:—

The bonus must be claimed before the 31st March, 1893.

The bonus will be payable in instalments of £50 as each lot of 50 tons of iron is manufactured, on the certificate of an officer appointed by the Minister of Mines that the iron is of good marketable quality.

In the event of more than one person manufacturing the required quality of pig-iron before the date named, inquiry will be made by the officer above referred to, when, if it is found that each applicant is equally entitled to a bonus, the amount will be divided; but in no case shall the total amount of money paid by way of bonus exceed £500.

The iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed and the ironsand or ore from which it is manufactured will be examined by the officer aforesaid, who may require proof that not only the ore, but that the lime, coal, and any other material used in the manufacture, is of genuine New Zealand production, and that sales of pig-iron have been made at fair market prices.
