"THE MINING ACT, 1891."—NOTICE OF INTENTION
TO DIVERT AND USE WATER.

Merrivale, Longwood, 21st October, 1892.
To the Warden at Riverton.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to divert and use

water for mining, driving machinery, and other pur-
poses, commencing at a point on Buckton Creek at a peg
marked E, about 20 chains above the Merrivale Homestead,
and terminating at the water-wheel at the homestead, Merri-
vale, at a peg marked E.

The length of such race is 20 chains or thereabouts, and
its intended course is N.E. and S.W.
The mean depth of such race is 3ft., and the mean breadth
is 5ft.; and it is proposed to divert ten Government heads of
water.
Cost of construction: £25.
Time required for construction: Already constructed.
Number and date of miner's right: 66099; 21st October,
1892.

must lodge his objection in writing at the Warden's Office at

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,
WESTLAND DISTRICT.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and the
amendments thereof, and in the matter of the Kanieri
Lake Water-race and Mining Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-
up of the above-named company by the Supreme
Court was, on the 24th day of October, 1892, presented to
Mr. Justice Denniston, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by
the Bank of New South Wales, a creditor of the said com-
pany, by filing the same in the Supreme Court Office, Hoki-
tika; and the said petition is directed to be heard before a
Judge of the said Court, at the Supreme Courthouse, Christ-
church, on the 18th day of November, 1892; and any
creditor or contributory of the said company, desirous to
oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the
said company under the above Act, should appear at the
time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose;
and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor
or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by
the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the
same.
