Proclaiming a Public Road at New Brighton, Canterbury.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, become a public road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of land along the foreshore on the New Brighton beach commencing at a point directly opposite the north-west corner of Rural Section No. 16012, running southwards along the eastern side of the road reserve along the beach to a point directly opposite the southern boundary of Lot No. 36, Rural Section No. 35535, of the uniform width of 50 links, excepting a point opposite the centre of the Sea View Road, where it shall be 100 links wide, reducing to 50 links at a point 4 chains on each side thereof.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

IN exercise and pursuance of the power and authorities vested in me by the one hundred and eighty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

GEORGE WATKIN WILLIAMS, Esquire, Chief Surveyor and Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Land District of Southland,

CUTHBERT COWAN, Esquire, and

JOHN McINTYRE, Esquire,

Commissioners to classify and report to me upon the rural land in the Land District of Southland known as runs numbers one hundred and forty two, one hundred and fifty-nine, three hundred and fifty-two A, and four hundred and twenty-three, as provided by section one hundred and eighty-nine of “The Land Act, 1892,” aforesaid.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.
