REMARKS.—Early part of month generally fine, with light wind; from 8th to 11th showery, with strong N.W. and S.E. winds; from 12th to 18th fine, with light wind or calm; from 19th to end of month showery, unpleasant weather, with N.W. and S.E. winds; 1·02in. rain recorded on 26th, the maximum fall for month; slight hail on 23rd. Maximum temperature in shade, 62; minimum, 38·5; mean temperature of dewpoint, 42·8; mean humidity, 74. Earthquakes on 25th, a few slight shocks after 1 a.m., N.E. to S.W.
