IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 311 of “The Counties Act, 1886,” that the By-law No. 7, made by the Tuapeka County Council, and sealed with the seal of the Council on the 8th July, 1892, appointing the several sums to be paid to the county funds for the licensing of vehicles, has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor.

RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN, WEST TAIERI RIVER DISTRICT.
THE following is the result of a poll, taken at Outram on the 1st October, 1892, on a proposal to raise a loan of £500, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” to heighten and strengthen the river protective embankment:—
Number of ratepayers on the roll 113, representing 192 votes; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal 74, representing 134 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, 0; informal votes, 1.
As a majority in number of the ratepayers within the said district have voted in favour of the proposal, and the number so voting are entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which can be exercised by the whole number of ratepayers of said district, I therefore declare the said proposal duly carried.

RESULT OF POLL FOR PROPOSED LOAN, EKETAHUNA ROAD DISTRICT, COUNTY OF WAIRARAPA NORTH.
THE following is the result of a poll, taken at the Road Board Office, Ekatahuna, upon a proposal to raise a loan of £1,200 for three and a half miles of formation and metalling on the Mangaoronga Road:—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 11; number of pollable votes, 11; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal 8, exercising 8 votes; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, none; number of ratepayers who did not exercise their votes 3, being entitled to exercise 3 votes.
As the number of ratepayers who voted, and the number of votes recorded, in favour of the proposal are in each case a majority of the total number on the roll, I therefore declare the proposal carried.

PATEA WEST ROAD DISTRICT.—ALTON SPECIAL RATING DISTRICT.
RESULT of poll on proposal to raise the sum of £1,000 by way of loan under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act 1886 Amendment Act, 1889,” for the purpose of forming and grading portions of the Ball Road from the main county road to Wilford Road, as shown on a plan prepared for that purpose, and now deposited at the office of the Board.
Number of ratepayers on roll, 88; number of votes exercisable, 114; number of ratepayers who voted for the proposal, 57; number of votes recorded for the proposal, 80; number of ratepayers who voted against the proposal, 1; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 1; majority of ratepayers in favour of proposal, 26; majority of votes recorded in favour of proposal, 46.
A majority of ratepayers, exercising more than one-half of the total number of votes exercisable, being in favour of the proposal, I therefore declare it to be carried.

THE following special order, made by the Ekatahuna Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.
THAT, for the purpose of securing payment of £1,200, borrowed by the Board under “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886”—for the purpose of six miles of formation in Parkville, commencing as near the bridge as necessary at the eastern end of the central road and terminating at the south-east corner of Section 4, Block X., Tararua; on No. 2 cross roads, north and south, commencing at the Wellington No. 1 Special-settlement Block and terminating at traverse peg No. 28, opposite Section 21, Block IX., Mangaone—a special rate of one and eleven-twelfths of a penny in the pound be made and levied on the following sections: 5, 6, 7, Block V., and Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 36, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, all in the Mangaone Survey District; Sections 1, 2, Block VII., and Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Block X., all in the Tararua Survey District. Such rate shall be an annually-recurring rate, and shall be paid, in two half-yearly instalments for twenty-six years, on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each year until the debt shall be liquidated.
