Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road in Manganui Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Foxton and New Plymouth Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road: And whereas it has been certified by the New Zealand Railway Commissioners that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Manganui Road District, the local authority of which has consented to the issue of this Proclamation: And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section five of “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1889,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Manganui Road Board, and shall be maintained by the said Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, situate in the Huiroa Survey District, being a strip of land, 60 links in width, forming portion of the Railway Reserve near Midhirst Railway-station, on the railway-line between Longburn and Waitara, the eastern side of which commences at a point on the eastern boundary of the said reserve in line with the southern side of Radnor Road, and terminates at the southern side of Beaconsfield Road.

Also all that area in the Taranaki Land District, situate in the Huiroa Survey District, being a strip of land, 60 links in width, forming portion of the Railway Reserve on the railway-line between Longburn and Waitara, the eastern side of which commences at a point on the eastern boundary of he said reserve opposite 224 miles 79 chains on the railway mileage (measured from Wellington), and terminates at a point opposite 225 miles 9 chains 40 links on the said mileage. As the same are delineated on the plan marked S.G. 13630, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington, and thereon coloured purple.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the second section of “The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Act, 1891” (herein termed “the said Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that, before certain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any block of land, it shall be necessary that the same be proclaimed as set apart for settlement: Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the said Act, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.
