have applied to register, under “The Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1889,” the trade-mark of which the following is a representation :—

The applicants claim as the essential particulars of this trade-mark the following device or brand, namely: Two palm-trees, the trunks of which are united at the root; two small palm-trees of similar design in the background, and behind the latter three hills forming a chain. The whole design is enclosed in a circle. Above the palm-trees, yet within the circle aforesaid, are the words, in black letters, “Palmam qui meruit ferat;” below the palm-trees, yet within the circle aforesaid, are the words “Trade Mark.” But the applicants disclaim any right to the exclusive use of the words “Palmam qui meruit ferat,” also of the words “Trade Mark.”

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade-mark shall apply.

Ceylon and Indian teas, coffee.

Class of Goods in connection with which the Applicants desire the Trade-mark to be registered.

Class No. 42.

Any person may, within two months of the date of this Gazette, give notice, in duplicate, at this office, of opposition to the registration of the trade-mark. A fee of £1 is payable with such notice.
