Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
GLASGOW, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

Undulating forest land, intersected by the Uwhiroa River, and lying about one mile from the head of the Herekino Harbour. The section has been partially improved.

Undulating land of inferior quality, covered with fern and short tea-tree, and containing about 5 acres of mixed bush and 8 acres of raupo swamp. The section has a frontage to the main coach-road to Horeke, and lies about four miles from Wainate North.

Section 32, nearly all heavy mixed forest land, very broken clay soil. Section 33, about 100 acres heavy mixed forest, remainder broken fern land, clay soil. Section 34, nearly all open land of poor quality, containing a few dead kauri trees (about 4,000ft. of timber); this section is subject to £20 for a house. These sections are about ten miles from Hikurangi, and are approached by a partially-formed road.

Sections 231 and 232, very broken land, covered with heavy forest containing a few small kauri trees, which would only be sufficient for fencing. Section 233, about 35 acres open land of poor quality, remainder very broken forest land, containing a few small kauri trees, sufficient only for fencing purposes. These sections are situated about five miles from Bombay Post-office, Great South Road.
