Division of the Borough of Sydenham into Four Wards.

GLASGOW, Governor.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886," section twenty-seven, it is enacted that, if not less than one-fourth of the burgesses of a borough petition the Governor praying him to divide such borough into wards, the Governor may, by Proclamation, divide such borough into not more than six wards, and shall in such Proclamation assign such names and boundaries to each ward as he thinks fit: And whereas not less than one-fourth of the burgesses of the Borough of Sydenham have petitioned me to divide such borough into wards:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the hereinbefore recited authority, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Borough of Sydenham shall be and the same is hereby divided into four wards, with the names and boundaries set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ADDINGTON WARD.

Bounded towards the north by the City of Christchurch; towards the east by a line along the middle of Windmill Road to Crescent Road; towards the south generally by Crescent Road and Douglas Jerrold Street; and towards the north-west by the Lower Lincoln Road.

NEWTOWN WARD.

Bounded towards the north by the City of Christchurch; towards the east by a line along the middle of Colombo Street; towards the south-west by Strickland Street; and towards the west by Addington Ward, hereinbefore described.

WALTHAM WARD.

Bounded towards the north by the City of Christchurch; towards the east by a line along the middle of Waltham Road to Austen Street; thence towards the south generally by a line along the middle of Austen Street to Campbell Street; thence by a line along the middle of Campbell Street to Ingoldsby Street; thence by a line along the middle of Ingoldsby Street to Huxley Street; thence by a line along the middle of Huxley Street and that line extended to the middle of Colombo Street; and thence towards the west by Newtown Ward, hereinbefore described.

EAST WARD.

Bounded towards the north and west by Waltham Ward, hereinbefore described; again towards the north and west by the City of Christchurch; again towards the north by the

Town District of Linwood; towards the south-east by Wilson's Road to Wilson's Bridge; thence by the south bank of the River Heathcote to a point in line with the north side of Tennyson Street; thence towards the south by a line to and thence by the north side of the said Tennyson Street to the middle of Colombo Street; and thence again towards the west by a line along the middle of Colombo Street.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by "The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875," I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration district known as the Wellington District; and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said district is hereby divided anew into two registration districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows:β€”

WELLINGTON DISTRICT.

Bounded on the north by a line drawn due east from the coast through the highest point of the road crossing the Paikakariki Hill to where it intersects the west boundary of Section No. 391, Akatarawa Survey District; thence towards the south-east generally by a right line to the north-east corner of Section No. 24A, Block X., Paikakariki Survey District, by Section No. 28 of said block, and by a road-line bounding the said Section No. 28 and Sections Nos. 33 and 32, passing through Sections Nos. 6, 4, 3, 11, and bounding Sections Nos. 16 and 19, all of the said Block X., and Sections Nos. 2, 6, 10, 7, 15, and 16, Block IV., Belmont Survey District, passing through Sections Nos. 59, 57, 436, 433, 845, 342, 341, 337, 334, and 332, all of Block III., the said survey district, by Sections Nos. 328, 331, 330, 329, 322, 321, 422,
