Fixing Sitting of Court of Appeal.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of August, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Court of Appeal Act, 1882," it is enacted that the Court shall hold its sittings at such times and places as shall from time to time be fixed by the Governor in Council, and proclaimed in the Government Gazette twenty-one days at least before the times so fixed respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby fix that a sitting of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand shall be held within the Supreme Courthouse, in the City of Wellington, upon Friday, the twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, at half-past ten o'clock in the forenoon.

Fixing Price, of Land in the Marlborough, Otago, Southland, and Westland Districts set apart for Naval and Military and Volunteer Land Claims.

GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was by warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, dated the twenty-sixth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and the twenty-second day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirty-first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and the fourth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, set apart for selection by the various holders of remission certificates issued under the authority of "The Naval and Military Settlers' and Volunteers' Land Act, 1891:"

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eighth section of the said Act, do hereby fix the price of the land enumerated in the Schedule hereto to be the price stated in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, being parts of Blocks II. and III., Wakamarina Survey District, containing approximately 2,000 acres, being a strip of land one mile and a half in width, commencing at a point on the Rai River due north of Trig. Station F, in the said survey district, and extending up the Rai Valley for a distance of about two and a quarter miles; as the same is more particularly shown on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Blenheim. Price, £1 per acre.

OTAGO.

All that parcel of land in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 3,900 acres, more or less, in Block IX., Woodland Survey District. Bounded on the north by a proposed road-line, being south boundary of Block VI.; on the east by a village reserve in Block X., Woodland, and the main Catlin's and Waikawa Road; on the south by Taukupu Bay; and on the west by the Taukupu River and partly by the Maclennan River: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin. Price, 12s. 6d to 17s. 6d. per acre.

SOUTHLAND.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 700 acres, more or less, being part of Block XXII., Invercargill Hundred, and part of Block VIII., Campbelltown Hundred, commencing at the north-west corner of Block VIII. aforesaid; thence along the south-west boundary of said Block VIII. for a distance of 6500 links; thence due east, 9500 links; thence due north, 1000 links; thence due west, 4300 links; thence due south, 1000 links; thence due west to the commencing-point, 8100 links. Price, £1 per acre.

WESTLAND.

All that parcel of land in the Westland Land District, being Blocks VII. and VIII., Okuru Survey District, containing by admeasurement 750 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-west and north by a road along the south-east bank of Howard's Creek and the south-west side of the Haast River, 7000 links; towards the north-east by Section No. 289 6000, 5731, and 2300 links, and by a road along the south-west side of Haast River 7350 links; towards the south-east by a road along overflow-channel of Haast River, 6400 links; towards the south by a line bearing 270° from traverse-peg xvi., and commencing 200 links west therefrom, 1900 links; and towards the south-west by a line bearing 330° 20' 47", running through traverse-peg iv. a distance of 16238'4 links to road, and in continuation of said bearing on western side of said road a distance of 160 links. Price, 15s. per acre.

Rural Lands in the Southland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of "The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887" (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.
