Defining the Middle Line of a Further Portion of the Otago
Central Railway (Middlemarch-Hyde Section).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Otago Central Railway (hereinafter
termed “the said railway”) is a railway the con-
struction of which is authorised by “The Public Works Act,
1879:” And whereas the said railway has been partly con-
structed, and it has been determined to construct and main-
tain a further portion of the same :
Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works
Act, 1879,” and “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exer-
cise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
middle line of the said further portion of the said railway
shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point in the Railway Reserve between
Section No. 30 and the road forming the western boundary
of Section No. 29, Block V., Strath-Taieri Survey District,
the said point being the termination of a portion of the rail-
way as described in a Proclamation dated the 20th Novem-
ber, 1890, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 68,
of the 28th November, 1890; proceeding thence generally
in a northerly direction for a distance of about 15 miles,
and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands,
viz., railway reserve in Block V.; railway reserve and
Crown lands in Block II., Strath-Taieri Survey District;
Crown lands, Sections Nos. 6, 7, and 8, Block X.;
Sections Nos. 9, 8, 7, 6, and 5, and Crown lands,
Block VI., Rock and Pillar Survey District; railway
reserve, and Sections Nos. 21, 22, 23, 20, 19, and 18,
Block III., Township of Hyde; and terminating at a point
on the eastern boundary of Section No. 18 distant about
25 links from the south-east corner thereof: including all
adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads,
streams, rivers, and watercourses; all in the Provincial
District of Otago; as the same is delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 16907, a copy of which has been deposited
in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at
Dunedin, in the said Provincial District of Otago.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable David, Earl of Glasgow; Knight
Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and
Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government
House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of
July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-two.

Regulations for depasturing Stock within Mining Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by subsection five of section three
hundred and forty-one of “The Mining Act, 1891,” I, David,
Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby make the following regulations, and do hereby pro-
claim and declare that the same shall take effect in all mining
districts throughout the colony, as from the date of the pub-
lication of the said regulations in the New Zealand Gazette.
REGULATIONS.
Interpretation.
In these regulations the words and expressions following
shall, if not inconsistent with the context, have the meanings
hereby attached to them, viz.: “Great cattle” shall be
construed to mean and include horned cattle, horses, mules,
asses, male and female, and their offspring above six months
of age; “small cattle” shall mean sheep, male and female,
and the weaned offspring thereof; “cattle” shall mean
and include “great cattle” and “small cattle” as above
defined; and “district” shall mean any district constituted
a mining district under the provisions of “The Mining Act,
1891.”
Right to depasture Cattle.
- Every holder of a miner's right and every holder of a
business license occupying land by virtue of such right or
license within any district, and also any person or persons
occupying land as a licensed holding, special claim, or
