NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 10 of “The Friendly Societies Act, 1882,” by writing under his hand dated this 13th day of July, 1892, cancelled the registry of the Hawke’s Bay Lodge, No. 45, Register No. 146 (33), held at Napier, branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of New Zealand, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

REMARKS.—First few days fine, but remainder of month very showery and unpleasant, with strong wind from S.W. in early part, fresh N.W. on 10th and 11th, otherwise winds moderate, and prevailed from N.W.; hail on 11th, 14th, and 15th, and light snow on last date; fog on 25th;
the maximum rain recorded on the 4th, ·90in. Maximum temperature in shade, 58·5; minimum, 35·5; mean temperature of dewpoint, 42·9; mean humidity, 77.

IN accordance with section 213 of “The Land Act, 1885,” the Auckland Land Board hereby notifies that the under-mentioned small grazing-runs, having been previously offered by public auction, shall be open for application at the respective annual rents set forth below, on and after Wednesday, the 31st day of August, 1892:—

WHAKATANE COUNTY.—PARISH OF MATATA.
Run No. 10A, 4,000 acres; annual rent, £25.
Open land, with some puriri in the gullies; situated on coast between Maketu and Matata.
Terms: Lease and registration fees, £1 10s., and half a year’s rent, together with the usual statutory declaration, must be deposited with the application.
If more applications than one are made on the same day for the same run, the lease will be submitted to public auction, the bidding to be limited to the applicants.

Situated within twenty miles of Waipawa by a good road. It is enclosed by a substantial ring-fence, and carries a large quantity of valuable timber, consisting of totara, matai, rimu, miro, and kahikatea, estimated to be worth at least £200. A proportion of the cost of fencing would be recoverable from adjoining owners under the existing Fencing Acts. Conditions of Sale: One-fifth of the purchase-money to be paid at the close of the auction, and the balance, together with £1 Crown-grant fee, within thirty days of the date of the sale.
