Waipawa Recreation-ground brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

GLASGOW, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of July, 1892.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay which is known as the Waipawa Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881;” and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 51 acres, more or less, being a portion of the old bed of the Waipawa River, situated in Block XI., Waipukurau Survey District, in the Waipawa County. Bounded towards the north by Blocks LVIII., LVII., LVI., and XVI. 3126·4 links, and Crown-land 150 and 2070 links; towards the east by old river-bed Crown land, 1370·3 links; towards the south by old river-bed Crown land, 4779·9 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Powers delegated to the Waipawa Town Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of July, 1892.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by the twelfth section of “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred, save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be specified in such order, and that every such delegation may from time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And whereas pursuant to “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” by an Order in Council of even date herewith, the land described in the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought under the operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said “Public Domains Act, 1881:”

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to

The Waipawa Town Board,

which shall be known as the Waipawa Domain Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Monday in each month, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., at the Town Board Offices, Waipawa, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the fifteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Extending Time for Shooting Native Game, Canterbury.

GLASGOW, Governor.

WHEREAS by a warrant made under “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” dated the seventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the tenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, it is, amongst other things, notified that native game, with certain exceptions, may be taken or killed in the North Canterbury District from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two: And whereas it is expedient to extend the time during which the said native game may be taken or killed in the aforesaid district:

Now, therefore, I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said “Animals Protection Act, 1880,” do hereby declare that native game, excepting tui, huia, white heron, and crested grebe, may be taken or killed in the aforesaid North Canterbury District, consisting of the Counties of Cheviot, Ashley, Akaroa, and Selwyn, until the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Places where Miners’ Rights and Business Licenses may be issued.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the nineteenth section of “The Mining Act, 1891,” I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the post-office at the under-mentioned place to be a post-office at which miners’ rights and business licenses respectively may be issued by the Postmaster in charge of such post-office, viz.:

Puysegur Point.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Rural Lands in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

GLASGOW, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, David, Earl of Glasgow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Whakatane County.—Unsurveyed Land.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situate in the Parish of Waioeka, and containing approximately 8,100 acres. Bounded towards the north generally by a public road, by Sections Nos. 325, 326, 327, 328, 329, and 330 of the Parish of Waioeka, and by a road reserved along the banks of the Otara River; towards the east generally by Sections Nos. 345 and 346 of the Parish of Waioeka, and by a road reserved along the banks of the Otara River and Te Waii Stream; towards the south by the northern boundary
