Vesting Reserves in the Ormond Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto were reserved permanently for municipal purposes on the seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Administrator of the Government, it is expedient to vest the said lands in the inhabitants of the Ormond Road District:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserves mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested, in trust, for a gravel-pit, for the use of the inhabitants of the Ormond Road District, and under the control and management of the Road Board of such district.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 11 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 26, 27, and 28, Township of Ormond. Bounded on the north by a public road, 388·5 and 174 links; on the east by a public road, 803 links; on the south by Section No. 69, 280·3 links; and on the west by the Waipaoa River: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 33, Township of Ormond. Bounded on the north by Section No. 32, 400·5 links; on the east by a public road, 249·3 links; on the south by a public road, 400·5 links; and on the west by Section No. 66 (police reserve), 249·3 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 4 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 35 and 36, Township of Ormond. Bounded on the north by Section No. 67 (police reserve), 489 links; on the east by a public road, 468·3 links; on the south by Section No. 34 (education reserve), 400·5 links; and on the west by Sections Nos. 39, 40, and 41, 359 and 120 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier.

Carleton Recreation-ground brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of June, 1892.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made for public recreation in the Land District of Canterbury, which is known as the Carleton Recreation-ground, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 2858 (in red), formerly part of Reserve No. 361, and situate in Block V., Mairaki Survey District. Bounded northward by a line parallel to the road north of Section No. 4643 and 555·6 links distant therefrom, 900 links; eastward by a right-of-way, 694·4 links; southward by Reserve No. 2808, 900 links; and westward by Section No. 15239, 694·4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Christchurch.

Powers delegated to the Carleton Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth delegate, but only with respect to the piece or parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto, all the powers conferred by the Act aforesaid, except the powers under or conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, to the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as the Carleton Public Domain Board, namely,—

ROBERT BENNETT,
JOHN CROSS,
JOHN DOHRMANN,
JOHN SKURR,
HENRY DAVIDSON, and
JOSEPH INCH

(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Wednesday in each month, at eight o’clock p.m., at Carleton, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the twentieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the third Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

  6. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
