Diminishing the Toll Rates on the Portobello Road, Otago,

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been found, after due inquiry, that the tolls charged by the Portobello Road Board on the Beach Road, in the Portobello Road District, Provincial District of Otago, are excessive, and should be diminished: And whereas “The Counties Act, 1886” is not in force in the said road district:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and by and with the consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby direct the said Road Board to diminish the tolls charged at the toll-gates now erected on the road known as the Beach Road, and situate in the Portobello Road District aforesaid, so that such tolls shall not exceed the rates named in the Schedule hereto; and, with the like advice and consent, it is hereby declared that this Order in Council shall come into force on the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, and that the rates named in the said Schedule hereto shall be the maximum toll charges on the said road on and after that date.

Validating Burgess Roll of Borough of Onslow.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the burgess roll of the Borough of Onslow for the year commencing on the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, was completed after the time required by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said “Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” doth hereby declare that the burgess roll of the said Borough of Onslow, for the year commencing from the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two, so made as aforesaid, shall be as valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been made within the times required by the said Act.

Extension of Time for Preparation of County Rolls, Inangahua.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that, owing to unavoidable circumstances, the preparation of the rolls for the County of Inangahua, and the taking of certain steps consequent on such preparation, cannot be made and taken within the times limited by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and it is expedient to extend the said times respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the several dates mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be the respective dates for taking the several steps set out in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

  1. For preparing the rolls for ridings within the County of Inangahua: Until the 22nd June, 1892.
  2. Time for which such rolls shall be open for inspection: From the 27th June, 1892, to the 15th July, 1892.
  3. Time for appeals against the said rolls: Until the 31st July, 1892.
  4. Revision Courts may sit for hearing applications, with reference to the said rolls, and adjourn: Until the 15th August, 1892.
  5. Time when the said rolls, having been duly corrected and signed, shall come into force: On the 1st September, 1892.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of June, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council bearing date the twenty-second day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of August then instant, certain fees were fixed and authorised to be taken in respect of appeals to District Courts from decisions of Wardens’ Courts, under “The Mines Act, 1877:” And whereas such last-mentioned Act has been repealed, and it is deemed expedient to revoke the said recited Order in Council and the scale of fees thereby made payable, and to make other provision in lieu thereof:
