RESULT OF POLL.
THE following is the result of a poll, taken at the Road
Board Office, Ekatahuna, upon a proposal to raise a loan of
£50, for formation on Makakahi Road North :—
Number of ratepayers on special roll, 5; number of
pollable votes, 5; number of ratepayers who voted for the
proposal 3, exercising 3 votes; number of ratepayers who
voted against the proposal, 0.
As the number of ratepayers who voted, and the number
of votes recorded, in favour of the proposal are in each case
a majority of the total numbers on the roll, I therefore
declare the proposal carried.

THE following special order, made by the Masterton
Road Board, is published in accordance with “The
Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER made by the Board of the Masterton Road
District, striking a Special Rate under “The Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1886.”
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it for that
purpose, the Board of the Masterton Road District resolves
as follows:—
That, for the purpose of meeting interest and annual
charges on a loan of £800, raised under “The Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1886,” for road formation, metalling, and bridge-
building on the Te Mara Kiriwhakapapa Roads, a special
rate of 3½d. in the pound be made on the rateable value for
the time being of the following rateable properties, that is to
say: Sections Nos. 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, Block VII.,
Sections Nos. 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, Block VIII., all in the
Mikimiki Survey District; and that portion of Section No.
56 in the said blocks lying to the northward of a line parallel
with and distant 190·50 links from the northern boundary of
the last-mentioned section, and containing approximately
315 acres.
That the said rate shall be an annually-recurring rate for
a period of twenty-six years, payable half-yearly, at the office
of this Board, in two equal instalments, on the 1st day of
February and the 1st day of August in each and every year,
commencing on the 1st day of February, 1893.
Passed at a meeting of the Board, this 28th day of May,
1892.

Regulations (Amended) for Admission of Patients to the
Rotorua Sanatorium.

THE following regulations for the admission of patients
to the Rotorua Sanatorium are published for general
information.

REGULATIONS.
- APPLICATIONS for admission of persons shall be addressed
to the Resident Medical Officer of the Sanatorium, Rotorua. - No person shall be admitted (unless in accordance with
Regulations 5, 6, and 7) except on the recommendation of the
Hospital or Charitable Aid Board of the district to which he
belongs, or of the Trustees of the benevolent society or hos-
pital (if separate institutions) of the town in which he lives. - The charge for maintenance and treatment is 21s. a
week. - The Board or Trustees, in making such recommenda-
tion, shall guarantee the cost of such patient, shall send him
or her at their own charge to Rotorua, be responsible for his
or her return-passage, and provide a sufficient supply of
clothing. They shall also furnish a report on the case by a
duly-qualified medical practitioner, in order that it may be
seen whether the case is one that is likely to profit by treat-
ment at the Sanatorium. - Members of any duly-registered friendly society may be
admitted, on the recommendation of the lodge to which they
belong, on the same terms as patients recommended by a
Hospital or Charitable Aid Board, and Regulations 3 and 4
shall be read as applying to them in all respects: Provided
that not more than three of such persons shall be resident at
the Sanatorium at any one time, and that all the hospital
beds are not required by patients admitted under Regula-
tion 2. - When all the beds are not occupied by patients ad-
mitted under Regulations 2 and 5, the Resident Medical
Officer may, at his discretion, admit persons, being bonâ fide
hospital cases, and who have undertaken to pay 30s. a week
for maintenance and treatment. - When all the beds are not occupied by patients ad-
mitted under Regulations 2, 5, and 6, persons may be
admitted on the following conditions:—
