Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of all powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf under the hereinbefore-mentioned contract or otherwise, do hereby proclaim and declare that the block of land defined and described in the Schedule hereto is set apart under the provisions of the said contract for bonâ fide mining purposes and the several purposes connected therewith.

SCHEDULE.

Block LXIX.: All that area in the Land District of Nelson, situated in the Mawhera-iti and Ahaura Survey Districts, and containing 9,000 acres, more or less. Bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Section No. 190, Square 122, Block XV., Mawhera-iti Survey District, and proceeding thence along the south-western boundaries of that section and Section No. 198, Square 122, and the production thereof to the bank of the River Grey; thence along the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 37, Block XV., and 197, Square 122, and along the south-eastern boundary of the latter, and its production to the River Grey, and along that river to Section No. 196, Square 122; thence along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that section, the north-western boundary of Section No. 41, Block XV., to the road forming the south-western boundary of Sections Nos. 41 and 40, Block XV.; thence along the said road, and the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 42, Block XV., to the eastern corner of Section No. 169, Square 122; thence along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of that section, and the north-western and south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 169 and 170, Square 122, to the road dividing those sections from Section No. 5, Square 121; thence along the said road, and across the same to the eastern corner of Section No. 5; thence along the south-western, north-western, and south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 5, Square 121, 2 and 3, Block III., Ahaura Survey District, and 10, 9, 8, 7, and 6, Block IV., Ahaura Survey District, and Section No. 5, Square 121, to the western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along a right line to a point on the northern boundary of Block IV., Ahaura Survey District, distant one mile and a quarter east from the south-western corner of same; thence along the southern boundaries of Blocks IV. and III., Ahaura Survey District, to a point on the latter one mile east of its south-western corner; thence along a line to Trig. Station F, Ahaura Survey District; and thence along a line to the south-eastern corner of Native reserve (Little Grey Junction); thence along the south-eastern boundary of the said reserve to the place of commencement: excepting from the above-described area all freehold land, leasehold land, and reserves.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, the Administrator of the Government of Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Extension of Time for Preparation of County Rolls, Horowhenua.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventeenth day of May, 1892.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that, owing to unavoidable circumstances, the preparation of the rolls for the County of Horowhenua, and the taking of certain steps consequent on such preparation, cannot be made and taken within the times limited by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and it is expedient to extend the said times respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the several dates mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be the respective dates for taking the several steps set out in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

  1. For preparing the rolls for ridings within the County of Horowhenua: Until the 22nd July, 1892.

  2. Time for which such rolls shall be open for inspection: From the 27th July, 1892, to the 15th August, 1892.

  3. Time for appeals against the said rolls: Until the 31st August, 1892.

  4. Revision Courts may sit for hearing applications, and with reference to the said rolls, and adjourn: Until the 15th September, 1892.

  5. Time when the said rolls, having been duly corrected and signed, shall come into force: On the 16th September, 1892.

Black Swans to be considered as Native Game.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the imported birds known as black swans (Cygnus atratus) are established in the Wellington Acclimatisation District, created under the aforesaid Act, and are to be considered as native game. And I do also declare that this notification shall take effect from and after the date thereof.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this sixteenth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

ROBERT NEIL

to be a Trustee, in the place of Mr. A. Warburton, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Strath-Taieri Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons appointed by warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor on the eighteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this twentieth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

Rural Land in the Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the third section of “The Land Act Amendment Act, 1887” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection, after the lapse of a period of not less than forty-five days from the date of the first public notification hereof, in the New Zealand Gazette, in the manner and upon the conditions mentioned in the said Act, and at the price per acre stated in the said Schedule.

MANGONUI COUNTY.—UNSURVEYED LAND.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situate in the Parish of Mangonui, containing approximately 5,600 acres. Bounded towards the north generally by Doubtless Bay, by a public road, by Section No. 129 of the Parish of Mangonui, and by a public road; towards the east generally by a public road, by Sections Nos. 7 and 6 of the suburbs of Mangonui, by Sections Nos. 109, 108, and 107 of the Parish of Mangonui, by a public road running along the foreshore of Mangonui Harbour, by the Pukenui, Aputerewa No. 2, and Aputerewa No. 1 Blocks, and by unadjudicated
