AT an extraordinary general meeting of the Dives Gold-mining Company (Limited), duly convened and held at the company's office, New Zealand Insurance Buildings, Auckland, on Friday, the 6th May, 1892, the subjoined extraordinary resolution was duly passed: "That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same." And at the same meeting JOHN BATGER and HENRY GILFILLAN, Jun., both of Auckland, were appointed Liquidators for the purposes of such winding-up.

NEW ZEALAND, { In the matter of a Bill entitled the Wesleyan Methodist Church Property Act TO WIT. { 1887 Amendment Bill.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand, at its next session, praying for leave to introduce a Bill to be intituled the Wesleyan Methodist Church Property Act 1887 Amendment Bill, the objects of which are (a) to amend the provisions of the above Act, so far as the same relate to or affect the appointment of, to make any alteration to, or modification in, or amendment of, the trusts and powers of the Wesleyan Methodist model deed of New Zealand, 1887 or any of them; (b) to authorise the New Zealand Conference to frame for itself regulations dealing with the Trustees and the vesting of trust property; (c) to authorise the New Zealand Conference to nominate and appoint any of its ministers to the use of any of its churches and premises from year to year for any number of years; (d) to authorise the New Zealand Conference election of its own officers. Copies of the said Bill will be duly deposited in the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders.

THE CITY AND SUBURBAN TRAMWAY COMPANY (LIMITED).

In the matter of "The Tramways Act, 1872;" and in the matter of an intended application by the City and Suburban Tramway Company (Limited) to His Excellency the Governor for an order authorising the construction of certain tramways in, and in the neighbourhood of, the City of Christchurch.

NOTICE is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of "The Tramways Act, 1872," that the City and Suburban Tramway Company (Limited) intend to apply to His Excellency the Governor for an order under the said Act,—

  1. Authorising the construction of certain tramways in and near the City of Christchurch; that is to say,—

  2. (a.) A tramway from a point in Manchester Street, Christchurch, 1 chain north of Lichfield Street, to the north end of Springfield Road, in the Borough of St. Albans, by way of Manchester Street and the North Town Belt, Christchurch, and Springfield Road, St. Albans.

(b.) A tramway from the said point in Manchester Street, Christchurch, aforesaid, through the suburban districts of Linwood and Richmond, to and along the New Brighton Beach, by way of Manchester and Cashel Streets, crossing the East Town Belt, Christchurch, Cashel Street East, and Stanmore Road, crossing the Stanmore Bridge, Linwood, the Stanmore Road, Richmond Ward, Christchurch, and the North Avon Road, the Canal Reserve, the New Brighton Road, through Rural Sections 7943, 24361, and 5672, Travers Road, Barker's Road, through Rural Sections 3672, 4738, and 6385, and along Bowhill Street, emerging upon the New Brighton Beach, and thence north and south along the said beach.

  1. The names of the cities, boroughs, town and road districts in which the proposed works or tramways will be made and run are—

(a.) The City of Christchurch;

(b.) The Borough of St. Albans;

(c.) The Linwood Town District;

(d.) The Avon Road District.

  1. On or before Monday, the 16th day of May, 1892, the plans and documents required to be deposited by the provisions of subsection (2) of section 7, and Part II. of the Second Schedule of "The Tramways Act, 1872," will be deposited for public inspection at the following places; that is to say,—

(a.) The office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court in the said City of Christchurch:

(b.) The office of the Christchurch City Council in the said City of Christchurch;

(c.) The office of the St. Albans Borough Council in the Borough of St. Albans;

(d.) The office of the Linwood Town Board in the Linwood Town District;

(e.) The office of the Avon Road Board in the Avon Road Road District;

(f.) The Public Works Office, Wellington.

  1. The office of the City and Suburban Tramway Company (Limited), situated in Cathedral Square, in the said City of Christchurch, is the place at which printed copies of the draft order when deposited, and of the order when made, will be obtainable.
