Defining the Middle Line of a further Portion of the Waikato-Thames Railway (Paeroa-Te Aroha Section).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Waikato-Thames Railway (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Public Works Act, 1879:” And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
A LINE commencing at a point in west portion Hararahi Block No. 1, 3841 in Block XII. Waihou Survey District, distant about 1070 links in a northerly direction from the westernmost corner or angle of the Hararahi Block No. 2, 3841A, which point is also the point of termination of a portion of the said railway, as described in a Proclamation dated 7th June, 1888, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 34 of 1888; proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction for a distance of about 12 miles 79½ chains; passing in into through or over the following lands in Blocks XII. and XVI. Waihou Survey District, Blocks IV. and VIII. Waitoa Survey District, and Blocks V. and IX. Aroha Survey District, viz.: The said west portion of Hararahi No. 1, 3841; north part Opatito 3774A; south part Opatito 3774B, Momonatui 3773; Te Hape No. 3, 5858; Rawhitiroa No. 2, 5370; Papaturoa, 6247; Koromatua No. 1A 3802; Te Waka o Tiki te Aroha 3801; Takapau 4031; Taumatawahine No. 4, 4383B; Taumatawahine No. 3, 4695; Native land unsurveyed; Mangamutu 4514; Te Paeroa No. 1A 3988; Te Paeroa No. 1B 3988B; Ngahuoneone No. 2, 4515B; Waitoki 3391; Te Maire 3747; Karaka 4046; Patuwhao 4188; Sections 1, 5, 15, and 16 in said Block V., Aroha Survey District; Sections 18A, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 27A, part 2 of 28, part 2A of 28, 29, and 31 in said Block IX., Aroha Survey District; Te Ruakaka 1085; Sections 100 and 111, Block IX.; Sections 122, 121, 132, and 131, Block VIII.; and Sections 142 and 141, Block VII., in the Township of Ruakaka; and Section 17 said Block IX. Aroha Survey District: including all adjoining and intervening places, roads, streets, tracks, streams, and watercourses;
and terminating at a point on the north-west boundary of Emma Street, Te Aroha Township, distant about 180 links in a westerly direction from the northernmost corner of Block LIX. Te Aroha Township, which point of termination is also the point of termination of a portion of the said railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 10th September, 1886, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 48 of 1886; in the manner delineated on plan marked P.W.D. 16899, and lodged in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, a copy of which is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Auckland.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, the Administrator of the Government of Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS in the contract bearing date the third day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, made between Her Majesty the Queen and the New Zealand Midland Railway Company (Limited), it is, among other things, provided that, subject to the conditions therein contained, all lands within the limits of the authorised area defined in the said contract shall be available for selection by the company, with certain exceptions: And whereas among such exceptions are included all lands which from time to time, in the opinion of the Governor, are or may be required for bonâ fide mining purposes and the several purposes connected therewith or incidental or conducive thereto, and which lands shall from time to time be set apart and defined by Proclamation to be issued in that behalf; but no more than ten thousand acres shall be so set apart or proclaimed in one block at any one time, and the lands so set apart and proclaimed from time to time shall not, in the aggregate, exceed seven hundred and fifty thousand acres: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required for bonâ fide mining purposes and the several purposes connected therewith, and the said lands are comprised in one block, containing six thousand five hundred acres: And whereas it is expedient the said land should be set apart and defined by this Proclamation:
