Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Railway from the Main Line of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to Oteramika and Toitois (Seaward Bush Branch).

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the railway from the main line of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway to Oteramika and Toitois is one of the railways specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1881,” which Act is, in the fifth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section five of “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1881,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the eastern boundary of Section No. 54, Block I., Oteramika Hundred, distant about 100 links from the south-eastern corner thereof, which point is also the point of termination of a portion of the said railway, as described in a Proclamation dated the 12th September, 1887, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 59, of 1887; proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction for a distance of about 5 miles 60 chains; passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, viz.: Sections Nos. 54, 55, and 61, Block I.; Sections Nos. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block III.; Sections Nos. 1, 2, 4, 11, 10, and 9, and forest preservation reserve, Block IV., and bush reserve, Block VII.; and terminating at a point in the said bush reserve distant about 26 chains in a north-westerly direction from the south-west corner of Section No. 18 of the said Block VII.; including all adjoining and intervening places, roads, reserves, streams, and watercourses; all in the said Oteramika Hundred, in the Provincial District of Otago; in the manner delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.16886, a copy of which is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Invercargill, in the said provincial district.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Invercargill, this third day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-two.

WHEREAS the North Island Main Trunk Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu via Murimotu, Taumaranui, and the Ongaruhē River Valley, is one of the railways specified in the Schedule to “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1884,” which Act is, in the eighth section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorising the construction of such railway; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

ERRATA.—In the New Zealand Gazette No. 31, of the 14th April, 1892, page 603, for “Acting Captain William Stitt Littlejohn, Nelson College Cadet Rifle Volunteers, to be Adjutant of the Nelson Volunteer District,” read “Captain William Still Littlejohn,” &c. In same Gazette, “Member of Licensing Committee appointed,” for “John Houner” read “John Honner.”
