Altering Time of Meeting of the Auckland Land Board.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 31st March, 1892.

IT is hereby notified for public information that His Excellency the Administrator of the Government has, in pursuance of subsection (1) of section 43 of “The Land Act, 1885,” approved the following resolution of the Land Board of the Land District of Auckland, viz.:

“12th February, 1892.

“That it is desirable that in future the Board meet at 10 o’clock in the forenoon.”

Additional Regulations re Engineer Studentships in Her Majesty’s Navy.

AGE OF CANDIDATES FOR EXAMINATION FOR ENGINEER STUDENTSHIPS.

(Memorandum.)
My Lords have decided that, in future, the age of candidates for examination for entry as engineer student in Her Majesty’s navy is to be not less than fourteen nor more than seventeen years, on the 1st day of May in the year in which they are examined.

Alterations and Additions to the Scale of Fares and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Railways.

THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by “The Government Railways Act, 1887,” do hereby make the following alterations in and additions to the scale of fares, rates, and charges on the New Zealand railways, to come into force on and after the 11th day of April, 1892:—

PART IV.—LOCAL RATES.

AUCKLAND SECTION.

The rates for goods of classes A, B, C, D, between Auckland or Newmarket and ports on the Kaipara, are hereby cancelled, and the following rates substituted:—

Goods of Classes A, B, C, D, for or from ports on the Kaipara, will be charged, at per ton weight, as under, between Auckland or Newmarket and Helensville, wharfage at Helensville included, ships to place in and take delivery of goods from trucks at Helensville Wharf :—

Class A .. .. .. .. 20s.
Classes B, C, D .. .. .. 15s.

WESTPORT SECTION.

Flax, native, dressed, screw-pressed, is excepted from the regulation which provides for goods of Class E being charged as Class A.


HURUNUI–BLUFF SECTION.

Class H.—Wool.

Wool, undumped, from Duntron, Hakateramea, and intermediate stations to Oamaru or Breakwater, will be charged 4d. per bale less than the classified rates.

PART VI.—WHARVES.

WESTPORT SECTION.—WESTPORT.

Rates.

Flax and tow per bale .. .. .. .. 3d.

Additional By-law for New Zealand Railways.—Brunner Railway-bridge at Brunner ton.

THE New Zealand Railway Commissioners, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and “The Government Railways Act, 1887,” do hereby make the following by-law for the regulation of traffic over the Brunner Bridge on the Greymouth to Brunner Railway (in substitution for No. 1 of the by-laws dated the 9th August, 1886), that is to say:—

BY-LAW.

No foot-passenger shall cross, or attempt or commence to cross, the Brunner Railway-bridge at Brunner ton, except on the footway provided for the purpose above the railroad.

Every person who shall commit a breach of the provisions of this by-law shall, upon conviction, be liable to a penalty not exceeding £10.

Notice to make Returns of Income.—“The Land and Income Assessment Act, 1891.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the above Act and the regulations made thereunder, every person and company, within the meaning of the said Act, having derived income during the year ending the 31st March, 1892, from any source or by any means which is made the subject of taxation under the said Act, is hereby required to duly make and furnish to me in the prescribed form returns of such income on or before the 18th day of April.

And, further, notice is hereby given that such returns shall in all cases be delivered at, or forwarded to, the office of the Commissioner of Taxes in the Government Buildings at Wellington.
