The following special order, made by the Taratahi-
Carterton Road Board, is published in accordance
with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
That a special rate of thirty-three fortieths of a penny in the
pound, annually recurring for twenty-six years from the
present year, and payable on the 1st day of May in each such
year, be now levied upon the properties comprised within the
Kokotau Bridge Special Rating District, as hereinafter
defined; such special rate being levied for the purpose of
paying the annual charges and interest for twenty-six years
on a Government loan of £2,500 for the construction of the
Kokotau Bridge and roads connecting therewith.
The following is the special rating district: All that area
situate within the Taratahi-Carterton Road District and
enclosed within the following lines, that is to say: Com-
encing at the junction of the Pohaturiki Stream with the
Ruamahanga River; thence along the boundary between
the Taratahi-Carterton and Featherston Road Districts to
the south-eastern corner of Section No. 36, Block VII.,
Huararua Survey District; thence along the eastern
boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 36 and 35, Block VII., Hua-
rarua Survey District, and of Sections Nos. 34, 30, and 29,
Block IV., same survey district, to the Mangauihi Stream, and
along such stream to the public road through Section No. 2,
Block IV., Huararua Survey District; thence along such
road to Section No. 5, Block IV., same survey district;
thence along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned
section to the Makahaka Stream, and along such stream to
the north-eastern corner of Section No. 22, Block IV., Hua-
rarua Survey District; thence along the northern boundary-
line of such last-mentioned section to Section No. 18, Block
XVI., Tiffen Survey District; thence along the eastern
boundary-line of such last-mentioned section and the eastern
boundary-line of Section No. 16, Block XVI., Tiffen Survey
District, to where it touches the southern boundary-line of
Section No. 14, same block and survey district; thence
along the southern boundary-line of such last-mentioned
section to the south-western corner thereof; and thence
along the western boundary-line of such last-mentioned
section to the Ruamahanga River; thence following the
Ruamahanga River in such manner as to include the Manoa-
whea Native Reserve to the point of commencement.
I hereby certify that the foregoing special order has been
duly passed by the Taratahi-Carterton Road Board, at a
