Geraldine Flat Water-race, County of Geraldine, constituted.

A PROCLAMATION.

I N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the two hundred and sixty-seventh section of “The Counties Act, 1886,” and at the request of the Geraldine County Council, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be a water-race, as defined by the two hundred and sixty-sixth section of the said Act, to be known by the name of the Geraldine Flat Water-race; and, further, that the Hae-hae-te-moana River, in the County of Geraldine, shall be the stream which may be taken for supplying the said water-race.

SCHEDULE.

RACE No. 1.

All that area, 12½ links in width, situated in Geraldine Survey District, County of Geraldine, commencing at a point on the north-eastern side of the road forming the south-western boundary of Section 10735 in line with the northern boundary of that section; and proceeding in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern side of the said road, and intersecting Section 10370, to the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section.

RACE No. 2.

All that area, 12½ links in width, situated in Geraldine Survey District, County of Geraldine, commencing at Race No. 1, hereinbefore described, on the southern boundary of Section 10370; and proceeding in an easterly and south-easterly direction along the northern side of the road forming the southern boundary of the said Section 10370, intersecting that section, across the said road, and intersecting Sections 13649 and 10459, to the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section.

RACE No. 3.

All that area, 12½ links in width, situated in Geraldine Survey District, County of Geraldine, commencing at Race No. 1, hereinbefore described, on the northern side of the road forming the southern boundary of Section 10370; and proceeding in a south-easterly direction across the said road, and intersecting Sections 13649, 12788, 12797, Reserve 1193, and Section 10429, to the road forming the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section.

RACE No. 4.

All that area, 12½ links in width, situated in Geraldine Survey District, County of Geraldine, commencing at Race No. 3, hereinbefore described, in Section 13649; and proceeding generally in a southerly direction, intersecting the said Section 13649, across a road, and intersecting Section 25858, Reserve 1192, across a road, and intersecting Sections 14377, 14514, 15446, and 14479.

RACE No. 5.

All that area, 12½ links in width, situated in Geraldine Survey District, County of Geraldine, commencing at Race No. 4, hereinbefore described, in Reserve 1192; and proceeding in an easterly direction, intersecting the said Reserve 1192, Section 12561, across a road, and intersecting Section 12562, to the road forming the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section.

RACE No. 6.

All that area, 12½ links in width, situated in Geraldine Survey District, County of Geraldine, commencing at Race No. 5, hereinbefore described, in Reserve 1192; and proceeding in a southerly and easterly direction, intersecting the said Reserve 1192, across a road, and intersecting Sections 13554, 12292, 12267, and 12292 aforesaid, to the road forming the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section.

RACE No. 7.

All that area, 12½ links in width, situated in Geraldine Survey District, County of Geraldine, commencing at Race No. 6, hereinbefore described, in Section 13554, and intersecting that section and Sections 14514 and 15446, to Race No. 4, hereinbefore described.

RACE No. 8.

All that area, 12½ links in width, situated in Geraldine Survey District, County of Geraldine, commencing at the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 16672; and proceeding in a southerly direction, intersecting Section 16672, across a road, intersecting Reserve 1194, across a road, and intersecting Section 12426 and Reserve 1195.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop; Viscount Cranley, of Cranley in the County of Surrey; Baron Onslow, of Onslow in the County of Salop, and of West Clandon in the County of Surrey; Baron Cranley, of Imbercourt; Baronet; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Kumara, this thirtieth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one.
