Tenders for Mail Service, Bluff and Stewart Island.
General Post Office,
Wellington, 26th November, 1891.
TENDERS will be received by the Chief Postmaster,
Invercargill, until Saturday, the 12th proximo, for the
performance of a weekly steam-service (each way) between
Bluff and Half-Moon Bay and Paterson's Inlet, for one year.
The service to commence on the 5th January next.
The contractor whose tender may be accepted must be
prepared to carry out the service according to the time-table
framed by the department.
Forms of tender, with the terms and conditions of contract,
may be procured at the Chief Post-office, Invercargill; the
Post-offices, Bluff, Half-Moon Bay, and Paterson's Inlet.
Tenders indorsed "Tender for Mail Service, Bluff and
Stewart Island," to be addressed to the Chief Postmaster,
Invercargill.

Further Alterations in Proposed Boundaries of Electoral
Districts.

FURTHER alterations in the boundaries and names of
the following districts have been made by the Repre-
sentation Commission since notice of the proposed altera-
tions in boundaries of electoral districts was published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the 14th October, 1891, and the
districts affected now are as follows:—
NORTH ISLAND.
Waikato comprises the Counties of East Taupo, Piako,
and Waikato, and that portion of the County of West Taupo
which is situated east of the Puniu River and of a line
drawn from the source of that river in the direction of the
source of the Mokau River to the county boundary; together
with Waitoa Riding, of Ohinemuri County, and that portion
of Totara Riding, of Thames County, which lies to the west
of the Thames River. This district includes also the Boroughs
of Hamilton and Cambridge, and has within its boundaries
Te Aroha Town District.
Waipa comprises the Counties of Waipa and Raglan, with
that portion of Kawhia County which lies north of the
parallel of 38° 30' south latitude, and that portion of West
Taupo County which is situated west of the Puniu River
and of a line drawn from its source in the direction of the
source of the Mokau River as far as the county boundary;
together with Maungatawhiri Riding, of Manukau County,
and that portion of Papakura Riding, of the same county,
which is situated south of Maraetai and Pakuranga Parishes,
and of a road commencing in Section No. 65, Papakura
Parish, and extending westerly to the Great South Road,
near Manurewa Railway-station. This district includes the
Town Districts of Papakura, Te Awamutu, Kihikihi, and
Ngaruawahia.
Bay of Plenty comprises the Counties of Tauranga, Wha-
katane, and Rotorua, and that portion of Thames County
lying east of the Thames River and south-east of a line
starting at Coromandel County boundary, and proceeding
along the Waiwawa River and the Taitoko Stream; and
along the eastern boundary of Hastings Riding and the
eastern and southern boundaries of Waiotahi Riding;
thence across Karaka Creek and along the north-eastern
boundary of Shortland Township to Sealy Street; thence
westerly along Sealy Street to Sandes Street; thence
southerly along Sandes Street and its extension to Hape
Creek; and thence along Hape Creek to Thames Borough;
together with the whole of Ohinemuri County, excepting the
Riding of Waitoa. This district includes also the Borough
of Tauranga and Motiti Island.
The name of "Waiapu" is substituted for "East Coast"
Electoral District, and "Patea" for "Waitotara" Electoral
District.
MIDDLE ISLAND.
Grey comprises the Ridings of Hohonu, Marsden, Maori
Creek, Paroa, Cobden, Nelson Creek, and Red Jack's, of Grey
County; and that portion of Brunnerton Riding lying to the
south-west of the watershed between Moonlight Creek and
Blackball Creek. This district includes also the Boroughs of
Brunner and Greymouth.
Westland comprises the whole of Westland County, toge-
ther with the Boroughs of Kumara, Ross, and Hokitika.
Lyttelton comprises that portion of Heathcote Road Dis-
trict which is situated to the south-west of the Canal and
Road Reserve between Woolston and Linwood; and that
portion of Halswell Road District situated within a line
starting at the westernmost corner of the Borough of Syden-
ham and proceeding along the southern boundaries of that
borough to Colombo Road; thence along Colombo Road to
Section 1335; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of
that section and Section 551 to the Heathcote River; and
thence along the Heathcote River to Lower Lincoln Road;
and thence along that road to the Borough of Sydenham;
together with the Borough of Lyttelton and Sumner Town
District.
Ellesmere comprises the whole of Akaroa County; that
portion of Ellesmere Riding, of Selwyn County, lying to the
south of the Southbridge Railway-line, and of the North
Rakaia and Taumumu Junction Road; that portion of
Lincoln Riding lying to the south of the Southbridge Rail-
way-line, south of Halswell Road by Ladbrook's, and of the
road leading from that road to Leadley's Road, and south of
Leadley's Road; and that portion of Halswell Road District
lying to the south-east of the road leading from the Halswell
River, at Section 1487, to and past the Halswell Road Board
Office to the Plantation and Road Reserve; thence along that
reserve to the Heathcote River near Cashmere; thence along
the Heathcote River to Section 562; and thence along the
southern boundary of that section to Heathcote Road Dis-
trict. This district includes also the Borough of Akaroa and
Southbridge Town District.
Selwyn comprises the Ridings of Courtenay, Malvern, and
Coleridge; that portion of Riccarton Riding situated south
of Newton and Coal Tramway Road, and west of Prebbleton
and Waimakariri Road; and that portion of Lincoln Riding
situated to the west of Harewood and Hampton's Road and
the Southbridge Railway-line; together with that portion of
Ellesmere Riding situated east of Selwyn and Bealey's Road,
north of Rakaia and Irwell Road, Buckley's Road, and Brook-
side and Irwell Road, and west of the Southbridge Branch
Railway-line.
Bruce comprises the whole of Bruce County, excepting
Clarendon Riding; together with Clydevale Riding, of
Clutha County; and Waitahuna Riding, of Tuapeka
County. This district includes also the Boroughs of Milton
and Kaitangata.
Clutha comprises the whole of Clutha County, excepting
Clydevale Riding; together with Tapanui Riding, of Tua-
peka County; and that portion of James Riding, of the
same county, which is situated east of the Pomahaka River
and south of Spylaw Burn; together with that portion of
Mataura Riding, of Southland County, which is situated
north of the Southern Trunk Railway-line and of the
Borough of Gore, south-east of the Okapua Stream, and
south of Dunedin and Switzer's Road. This district includes
also the Boroughs of Balclutha and Tapanui, and has within
its boundaries Clinton Town District.
Tuapeka comprises the whole of Tuapeka County, except-
ing the Ridings of Waitahuna, Waipori, and Tapanui, and
that portion of James Riding situated east of the Pomahaka
River and south of Spylaw Burn. This district includes
also the Ridings of Earnscleugh, Dunstan, Manuherikia,
and Matakauri, of Vincent County; and the Boroughs of
Alexandra, Roxburgh, and Lawrence.
Wakatipu comprises the whole of Lake County; and the
Ridings of Carrick, Clutha, Hawea, and Lindis, of Vincent
County; together with the Waikaka Riding, of Southland
County; and that portion of Mataura Riding, of Southland
County, which lies to the north-west of Okapua Stream and
north of the road leading from Dunedin to Switzer's. This
district includes also the Boroughs of Queenstown, Arrow-
town, and Cromwell.
The name of "Ashburton" is substituted for "Rakaia"
Electoral District, and "Chalmers" for "Dunedin North"
Electoral District.
