of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Borough Council of Woodville; and I do hereby fix and determine that the Borough Council of Woodville shall itself provide out of its own funds one-half the cost of maintaining the said bridge, and that the Maungaatuua Road Board shall from time to time, on demand in writing from the said Council, pay to the said Council one-half the cost of maintaining the said bridge.
SCHEDULE.
THAT bridge over the Maungaatuua River, and the approaches on each side thereof, situated on the line of road leading from the Woodville-Masterton Road to the Maungaatuua River, known as Broomfield Street, and adjacent to Subdivisions Nos. 81 and 82 of original Section No. 117, Block IV., Woodville Survey District, partly in the Borough of Woodville and partly in the Maungaatuua Road District, Land District of Hawke’s Bay; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 12096, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Land District of Wellington, and thereon marked in red.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1885,” I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the blocks of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for the Medbury Special Settlement, upon the terms and conditions fixed by an Order in Council issued on the twenty-seventh day of February, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, and made under the one hundred and sixty-third section of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,066 acres, more or less, being part of Reserve 198. Bounded towards the north-east by the Hurunui River; towards the south-east by the Waitohi River; towards the south-west by Subdivisions 2 and 1, Reserve 198 aforesaid; again towards the south-east by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Reserve 2598; again towards the south-west and south-east by Reserve 2598 aforesaid; towards the south by the road forming the northern boundary of Subdivisions 1, 13, 12, 11, 10, 14, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, and 23, Reserve 2744, and Subdivisions 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29, and Section 2505; and towards the west and north-west by a public road.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being Subdivision 14, Reserve 198. Bounded towards the north by a public road; towards the east by Subdivision 10; towards the south by Subdivision 16; and towards the west by Subdivision 15.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 50 acres, more or less, being Subdivision 23, Reserve 198. Bounded towards the north by a public road; towards the east by Subdivision 21; towards the south by Subdivision 24; and towards the west by a public road.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 35 acres 1 rood 23 perches, more or less, being part of Reserve 198. Bounded towards the north by Reserve 2744; towards the east by a public road; towards the south-west by the road along the northern bank of the Waitohi River; and towards the west by Subdivision 25 of Reserve 198 aforesaid.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” for the construction of a public work within the meaning of the said Act, namely, the construction of works for the purposes of defence at Taiaroa Heads, Otago:
And whereas all notices and acts required by law to be given and done have been duly given and performed, and the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor a memorial containing a list of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid, together with a map showing accurately the position and extent thereof, as required by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the Acts amending the same:
Now, therefore, I, William Hillier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and “The Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the tenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-one, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the said public work.
